But it was rightfully deserved - his DCT had issues requiring the car to be in the dealership for several weeks at a time. When he needed replacement for suspension parts, it would also take weeks to arrive.

The Focus has a great engine and a great drive. I doubt though if many people will see that as enough reason to buy one.

Yup. The pre facelift focus with the DCT has an awfully problematic tranny.
I did my research though and found out they used a regular torque converter in the focus ecoboost.

You are correct, parts will be a pain. But with the right connections, OEM parts are quite easy to find. It also helps that we have a good relationship with the Ford casa here.

I think the Focus leans towards the enthusiast side. Similar to the Mazda3. It prioritizes driving dynamics over practicality.
