Is this your garage sachiel? Love the all white theme but cant help noticing that a single fortuner wont cut it so you had to get another one with the same color hehehe.

    2008 X-Trail prices range at 600-700k.
2008 Escape prices range from 550-600k.

Prices are from various sellers from Sulit and AyosDito.

Hard to compare 2009-2010 X-Trail prices since there aren't a lot of them kasi eto yung time na parating na yung new one.

Parang nalimutan niyo ata gusto ni mrs. mapormang kotse.

I don't think mapopormahan sa BRAND NAME pa lang si mrs.

No offense to Nissan owners or Nissan as a whole. Di talaga siya sikat with the ladies.

I've driven the current gen forster (2.5). Both 2.0 and 2.5 drinks gas like a thirsty camel. But they drive pretty well.

CRV is a bit of a safe choice since its all new (mas matagal maluma, plus honda badge).

XV, no comment as I haven't driven it yet. I sat inside and its comfy, plus the interior is top notch. They also say that FC is good.
One drawback is that this car will have very little resale value.

I've test driven the CX5 together with fellow tsikoteer istan. Car has alot of features, good NVH and FC.

My suggestion will be to get the wife to at least sit inside each car and see which one she likes, or better yet, have her test them out. Among the 4 I would recommend the CX5, alot of features + good NVH + decent FC.

Guys, update ko lang kayo. Things just got a little more interesting with the wife starting to consider Korean carmakes after my prodding. And at the top of the list that she likes....the 2013 model santa fe. A big jump from the last 2 choices. Women talaga...pabago bago isip haaay.

Hi sir, the wife and i scratched out the CRV and the Forester so its down to the XV and the CX5...at least it was down to those 2 until this morning since was able to convince her to take a good 2nd look at the korean makes.

    Oh hot damn...

If that's the 1.7M variant, then go! Basta 2.2L ReVGT ha. Para talagang busog ka sa power.

Kung yan yung 2.2M variant, might as well look * the Explorer na rin.

Today is a packed day...test driving the cx5 for the 2nd time, then going to subaru to test drive the xv for the 3rd time. And if pwede ba, maybe a quick stop to hyundai to inquire.

Baka yung 1.7M variant lang siguro sir. 2.2 is way off. Did some computations din and the additional amount to the monthly amortization will be roughly 5,000. Kinda manageable if you ask me.

I guess the subaru now is at the last place.

Good move sir! It wont hurt to do more test drives. Hindi naman kasi natin mapupulot basta basta yung money to purchase a new vehicle. So the one you plan to get should be the one that will make you happy. Or in this case si misis :D

Yes. The fortuners are assigned to our managers so when they left, we use it until it can be assigned to a new one. My parents don't like black so white is the safest choice haha. The blue Xtrail CVT is too bright for me, if they had the dark blue like the first gen, I would choose it. The gray is also so so for me so I chose white. It goes well with the black accents.

Iba pa rin feeling ng compact SUV sa mid size SUV. The fort still feels truck like. Gas pareho hehe.

Good luck sa shopping. Masarap mag shopping ng tsikot sa weekends.=)

Ok done with the test drive. First stop was mazda. The wife was the one at the helm. Affirmed again the good torque. Nvh was good also. Seated at the back, had enough time to check out the back row. Its not possible to recline the rear seat since they rest against the boot cover. Head room was quite good. Surprisingly, leg room was ample and same as the xv. Told the wife to sync her phone with bluetooth. Had little trouble pairing. Took us 3 tries before getting it. Audio controls via the steering were ok but oparating via the main unit was difficult. Had to really press on the touch screen and apply slight pressure. Ride quality was good. Back row has a little judder over small bumps but its tolerable. The horn sound...forget about it... Ang pangit ng tunog. Plastics were ok

Now you know you're not alone.. :D

Ang dami na kasi fluidic-designed SUVs ngayon. So having an Xtrail, or seeing an Xtrail is very refreshing. Mukhang matanda, probably... pero it still looks good. Very good, in fact.

I'd choose it over the Tucson, CRV, CX5, RAV4 & ASX any day. Maybe I'll have a hard time between choosing it over the Kia Sportage but might end up with it anyway, if given the chance & the budget.

And we use cars till it breaks down which is why I have a hard time changing cars. But if you're the type who change cars every 3-5 years, this will be a major problem.

But still, CX5 wins for me over the XV. Matagal pa kasi yun new Escape and Rav4.
Ganda bro. Consider yourself lucky. Haha. At least di ka kasali sa common CUVs that we see around, and isa ka sa mga CUVs na maappreciate ko if ever out paths crossed.

Design wise, mas gusto ko talaga Mazda CX5 over the XV. Ewan ko. Pero syempre since nainclude na rin yung SF, dun na 'ko. It will look as if it's a notch higher than the said two.

Thanks renzo. Konti lang talaga ngayon nag appreciate sa design ng Xtrail but it is very unique right now on the roads kaya ok lang. Too many Tucsons, Forts and Montero right now. Even the Innova looks curvy.

Sta Fe na rin ako if the budget allows. Unless you want to wait for the new Sta Fe.

After mazda went to subaru naman. There was an event last night sa showroom... Launch of the impreza naman. Test drive unit was not available at that time so what the sales person did was escort us to the 3rd flr to look and tinker the xv. Sakto the unit there was a premium camelliA red and a white unit. Naliitan taga si wife. Boot space talaga and a little bit on the rear headroom. Did not try to influence the wife na. Im letting her do all the analyzing. Ang kinalabasan......wife decided to withdraw out reservation for the xv. It pains me but the subaru will have to be dropped na
