First PMS (7500km) ko nga sa Sportage 1,700 lang bro. Ngayon iba na ata oil na gamit ng Kia kaya medyo tumaas. Tapos yung 15000km PMS umabot lang ng 4.4K.

Hay.. So, the Php5.6K 1st PMS is really expensive, what more the other succeeding PMS?

So, can you recommend any other vehicle that can be bought for about Php800K? Brand New Please.
Should I now consider Sedans? But my wife said she doesn't like sedans..
But if ever, what is the most spacious sedan at Php800K?

On second thought, why did I forget about the SX4 Crossover? Hmm.. Time to read the SX4 Thread.

On third thought, I think the Honda Jazz is actually a better buy than the SX4 Crossover. Hmm.. This is getting complicated.

Okay, made some computations, Haima7 Comfort vs Sportage LX M/T

Total Cost of Ownership in 5 years

    20% DP, Financing at 29.5% 5 Years

PMS is at 5000KM Interval 3x in year 1, 2x for year 2-5

    Haima7 is P5,600 per PMS
    Sportage is P3,000 per PMS

Insurance is free for 1st year, 15K succeeding years
    LTO 10K 1st 3 years, 4K on year 4 and 5

    10000KM per year
    P56 per Liter of Gas
    Haima7 at 9KM/L
    Sportage at 8KM/L

    Haima7 TCO = 1,438,275.11
    Sportage TCO = 1,682,168.00

That is 3.4K per month that I can use for, let's say, milk and diapers.

    Resale Value at Year 5
Haima7 = 200K? Ahaha! (depends on what will happen with Haima, but I actually have a positive outlook with it.)
    Sportage = P400K?

Yes, but I have to consider the "Now" factor, because right now, I think I really can't afford the Sportage without sacrificing a lot of things.

No Sir, there's still a choice, there is always a choice

I will check the prices of the SX4 and the Carens, if they would be available for around 800-850K, then I can include them on my list.

Hindi lang 70%, Sir, 80% siguro. PMS is a bit of a turn off, I was 90% decided before knowing about the PMS. Any other car you can think of that is around 800K?

Grand Livina Elite na sir. Pasok sa budget. Spacious. Tapos 1.5k lang ang 1st PMS.

yes, I also like the Livina, but it has no airbags and abs. Nissan should have upgraded this and added airbags and abs to the Elite variant, and the aircon!

Yun lang. Airbag talaga ang deal breaker for Elite variant. GL highway star luxury nalang kung ganun. Malakas naman aircon kaya palamigin hanggang 3rd row. I have a GL luxury by the way.

Can't afford. If I would be able to afford the Highway Star or the Luxury, I will get the Sportage M/T.

I would get a Kia Soul over an SX4 any day. It may look misleadingly small but it actually isn't and has a lot of space for cargo (2 strollers plus more will fit) and class leading headroom. It also has a great engine (2011 Ward's Top Engines) with a 6-speed A/T.

As for the Haima 7 (which is technically already an SUV), I've driven it once and I would say it is definitely value for money. The only thing I didn't like was the feel of the transmission but everything else had Mazda Tribute written all over it, except it actually looked and felt better. If I remember correctly, the engine is already at least Euro 4 compliant (baka nga Euro 5 pa). Decent power and torque, too, but nothing like a CRDi. If I remember correctly, quality control standards/process are pure Mazda so the only question in my mind would be the quality of the alloys used. Crash test results should verify this (I have no data or links, however).

More than adequate safety features (2 airbags and ABS) plus tire pressure monitoring and other trimmings. Non-body panel parts are supposedly plug and play with stuff you can buy at MazFord in Banawe (I cannot confirm this). The looks aren't bad too, if you can look past the Haima badge. You can always have it removed if you don't like it.

wow, that made my decision for Haima a lot firmer, about 90% ulit.
but I will check the Soul, Carens, and SX4, just for comparative purposes.
    Thanks you, Sir.

I would avoid any Chinese cars as of now. Sure it is value for money, but the cost of repairs and maintenance can offset the value and this does not include the resale value yet. But if you really like it then it's ok since we need more feedback from customers regarding quality of Chinese brands.
