It’s just generally speaking with all else being equal. There are other variables in play that affects resale value.... like year model, mileage, overall condition, service history, etc.

There may be exceptions to the rule but they’re definitely a minority.

Kaso marami naka A/T di marunong ng stick kaya bias

AT commands premium for convenience alright..all cars get depreciated on a fixed rate per year (check your TPL chart)..hence, an AT car will never depreciate far more than an MT variant unless it's a total wreck

Just like my 1.3 vios MT.

I haven't driven A/T cars that much, so i really really can't tell the better one objectively. Based on car racing games naman... manual trannys get the better edge, d ba? and i prefer it too. Pros and Cons..., maintenance cost, acceleration.. etc. Love to hear your insights mga pare. I appreciate it!
For me it depends on your daily drive city driving prefer A/T for uphill M/T or in province

    Personally,

Manual - you have a better feel of your car and shift when you want to shift. More economical in city driving.

Parts are more subject to human error (like when my brother borrowed my 1 yo hilux and ruined the clutch)

Traffic sucks, in a manual it really really sucks.

Not as economical in long highway stretches.

Harder and more likely to burn clutch during hanging incline traffic and if you offroad, when you’re stuck in mud.

Automatic - easy to drive. Very economical in highway stretches. Modern traditional ATs are much more durable than before. Less likely to break from inexperienced drivers. Actually better to offroad in honestly. Paddle shifting has mostly removed the advantage manual has in overtaking in our local highways.

Parts are more expensive as well, and when it breaks it really breaks.

    Atf maintenance. More expensive.

Some drivers might forget they’re in D or R and get into an accident. Hello SUA?

    Not macho.

only thing I can replace on my 6sp automatic transmission is the position switch on top of the unit. Not really expensive. I just remove the airbox and clean it. The fluid is very basic. Its dexron6 equivalent of Hyundai. If you study the transmission fluids.

Maintenance is basic drain and fill. Fluid is not that expensive. 500/liter isnt bad.
