M/T for fun... A/T for comfort...
if you want both... get a sportronic tranny (+/-)

nah! .. if you want both, get a car with a Dual Clutch A/T or DSG A/T system.

Example: current Ford Focus 2.0T diesel HB.

just an experience yesterday during traffic, relative din kasi sa thread na ito, anyway here it goes.

anyway, that is why recommended ang A/T because it is easier to drive lalo na for aged people. back to the story, I volunteered na ako na ang magdrive pataas nung vios niya. and to my shock, hindi ko mai-start yung vios niya amfs! ayun pala kailangan pang apakan ang clutch para mag-start??? ayun, naiangat na ang vios and tumuloy na ang traffic.

lesson, M/T will kill you on a hanging situation, talagang ibibitin ka kapag hindi ka sanay hehe. for ladies IMO, talagang automatic ang recommended transmission.

p_borj : Yes. Vioses requires you to step on the clutch while starting the engine. For safety purposes na rin.

Hirap talaga pag incline. Lalo na kung sa mga mall ka mabibitin. But then again, sanayan lang iyan. ;)

    wew...

IMO, the easiest way to escape this situation is the "Handbreak" technique. Mas madali to especially sa mga girls

+1 on the hand break technique.

question on MT though. pag steep incline ba, ok lang na naka-half depressed yung clutch to the release/biting point lang? how about with occassional mild pressing on the gas pedal pag sobrang steep ang incline? or hindi recommended ang ganitong technique? may situations kasi na pakonti-konti lang ang andar tapos sobrang steep ng incline.

slipping the clutch.. ^ i'v heard that clutches slipping for long periods would just end up to be fried. pero kung minsan-minsan lang ok lang naman siguro...
