My personal suggestion sir is to test drive those cars in your shortlist. Try to find that 'connection' when you get inside the car and drive it.

Happy hunting. 3 years ago, ganito rin kami. Naghahanap ng sasakyan at kung ano ba talaga ang gusto namin.

What a waste of time but still thankful we were not scammed. Lol.

Decided to go with a brand new car instead since the risk of buying a used car is not worth it (as a complete noob) and not to mention the hassle of ending up with a problematic car.

May I know if Suzuki Swift GL CVT is a good quality car for a first time owner? It’s my second choice, my first being Mazda 2 but that is pushing my budget for a subcompact car.

    My choices are:

    1. Suzuki Swift GL CVT
    2. Kia Picanto AT
    3. Toyota Wigo AT
    4. Suzuki Celerio CVT

Really appreciate the reply sir! Thank you!

If yan ang options, I'd go with the T-badged wigo.

Swift or Brio in that price range. The Swift looks and drives like a subcompact rather than a supermini. The Brio is modern and looks more upscale than the other cheaper options.

Mazda 2 costs 360k more tho? I think most Wigo buyers don't have an extra 360k (or 7.5k/month for 5 yrs with interest) to upgrade to a Mazda 2, otherwise they probably would've gone for a subcompact (or a subcompact CUV priced the same).

Most buyers of brand new superminis are first time car buyers who are scared to go the secondhand route because they aren't well versed with cars. Case in point, the poster above.

Agree on the premium & pluses of factory warranty of new.
Well, this site tries best to function like a help hotline of sorts. I wish experienced voices like yours & many on here alone were enough to quash fears of pre-owned. There are a lot of good 1s out there.....Sadly, nothing can sub honest & thorough physical pre-purchase inspection. Something virtual will fall far short of.[emoji17]

    wigo AT
    i have one.
    i'm happy.
but if your arse is big and wide... forget the wigo! it wasn't design-measured for wide arses..
in fact, it's one of the two complaints i can think of, against my wigo.
but ordinary-sized folks should fit fine.
    test-fit one, before deciding.
    my other complaint, is "matagtag".

I can definitely say na nakita ko ang ‘spark’ sa Mazda 2 HB, fell in love with its design (exterior & interior) and how it drives. Sadly, it’s way over my budget po. Was hoping to get a used one (2016-17) but that fell through. I guess best option for me is to just buy a new car. I’m a single lady, first time car owner and recently got my non-pro license.

    Thank you for your input!

Oh, forgot about the latest Brio, haven’t checked Honda showroom yet. Swift’s cash discount offer of 95k is quite tempting. Is it true that maintaining a Honda car is more costly?

    Thank you!
