First time buying a car

Hello. I am planning to buy a 2nd hand car. First time ko po mag drive so I opted for such and maliit lang kasi budget. If ever matuloy, I'll be the 3rd owner na. The unit was repossessed from BDO by the 2nd owner. Hindi po napatransfer ang ownership pero complete naman docs ni seller. Paano po kaya yun, may dapat po ba ko hingin sa seller for security purposes aside from deed of sale? Hindi po kasi ako maalam sa ganito. Thank you very much po.

I'm no expert at this technicalities, but personally, I would look for other 2nd hand cars with less hassles and issues. Andami dyan.

Walk away. Masyado mahaba proseso ng pag transfer from previous owner to bank to second owner to you.

Keep looking. Meron pa diyan na pwedeng ikaw and 2nd owner na less complicated.

the deed of sale must be with you and the 1st owner.. kasi hindi kamo na transfer sa 2nd owner, unless gusto mo pa transfer muna sa kanya (2nd owner) before you do the sale, so ang sale between you and the 2nd owner na lang..

Thank you po sa reply. Paano po yun, wala na po contact sa 1st owner. Kasi yung 2nd owner nabili po ang unit from BDO. Madali lang po ba process kung papatransfer ko kay 2nd owner? Hindi na raw po kasi nila naasikaso transfer since may deed of sale naman and complete docs daw po from BDO.

Salamat po. Pwede po malaman bakit complicated? Sorry po noob talaga ko dito eh. Kasi sabi po ni seller may deed of sale from BDO naman daw po sila. So good na raw po iyon and considered as owner na sila. Kaso to be sure, since noob nga po ako, nagtanong muna po ko dito.

Sir, nalipat na po ni 1st owner kay bank. Ung 2nd owner po hindi pinalipat sa kanila ang ownership, ok na raw po ang deed of sale from BDO.

Opo. Yun po yung may nakalagay na ENCUMBERED tama po ba? Pinakita po kasi sa akin ni seller. Kahit sila po di masyado maalam sa ganito. Pero dati raw po may nabenta na silang kotse din, di rin natransfer ownership sa kanila as 2nd owner. Binigyan lang daw po sila ng deed of sale nung buyer at pinapirma sila.
