December 3rd, 2014 05:01 PM #1402Hello,
Would like your recommendations sana on a decent head unit just to replace a stock one.
I'd like:
Aux-in
Android Support
iPod/iPhone Support
Bluetooth streaming mostly from android
I'd want:
Something you can configure to have the colors in RGB or white (to match the car's dashboard lights).
Cheapest HU that ticks the most, if not all boxes.
I've seen several Alpine and Pioneer units online but don't really know what to look for (examples)
DEH-X4650BT
DEH-X9650BT
CDE-153EBT
CDE-154EBT
**Should I go 2DIN instead? Stock HU is 2DIN but seems like decent 2DINs are a little pricey. (Edit: I guess this answers my own question hehe, but I'll leave the original part of the post anyway)
Also, any decent store open on Sundays in the Metro? The good audio tuners are all closed and I can only do Sundays...Last edited by mda; December 3rd, 2014 at 05:19 PM.

If the stock hu is 2-din, going 1-din will require you to buy a filler for the below part. Baka konti nalang sir idadagdag mo naka 2-DIN ka na. I installed a cheap pioneer 265BT 2-DIN lcd on one of our cars, it only cost like 12k. Ok naman sya, may included na mic na for handsfree calling. It also works perfectly on both my iphone 5s and samsung note2 when i stream music through it via BT.

I think goldcars in banawe is open even during sundays. Yun lang medyo mahal patong nila. You can also schedule one with a car audio installer. San po kayo malapit?

December 5th, 2014 02:47 PM #1406Banawe is fine, just not too far north or south (I guess North EDSA to MOA will be my endpoints, with anywhere in between fair game). Somewhere along EDSA/main roads will be great sana.
Tumawag ako sa iilang Banawe shops kahapon, they don't really seem accommodating as to what head units they have at least over the phone. Takot ko tuloy when I show up, kokonti lang yung pwedeng pagpilian and I get suckered into getting a HU that's more expensive than I had originally planned to buy.
As much as possible kasi I'd like to do a little research on what I can get rather than walking into the shop with a list of features I want and just letting the owners sell me on a specific model.

you may want to check out prominent car audio shops like jc car audio, quest car audio, sun-x...

December 5th, 2014 03:48 PM #1409I installed Rockford Fosgate Prime separates (front) and another pair of RF Prime 3-way (rear deck) on my Altis 2014 with Growlaudio HU. All RF speakers are rated 40 RMS. I do mostly easy listening such as Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban and Andre Rieu and occasionally the acoustic version of Hotel California. I feel that my RF speakers don't reach their full potential due to low power. Should I install s 4-channel amp? If so, any recommended brand and rating? Thanks.

If you want to get louder then installing a 4 channel amplifier would be your solution. Get any 4 channel amp that is rated at least 5owatts x 4 channels. You might want to consider getting a Rockford amp as well for uniformity.
If you want to get more performance out of your speakers also consider deadening the front doors and the rear deck of your car.
Make sure that your new speakers have spacers on them to avoid any metal to metal contact and to re-enforce on how your speakers where mounted. You can also play around with the position of your tweeters, look for an angle that has the least ear fatiguing sound before permanently mounting them in place. Lastly, explore the tuning features that your Head Unit can offer.
Good luck!
