The Pioneer GMD9601 outputs 500/800/1200W and costs $280. If you're talking about price to power, it's sulit naman. Problem is: would you require that much power? Since from the looks of it, chances are you don't need it.

Your X12 will naturally be hot. As long as it isn't going into thermal protection, ganyan talaga yan. It's a Class AB amp after all. If you're looking for a mono amplifier, it's best to settle for something less pricey. Hindi mo kilangan ng mahal na mono amp as distortion is all but prevalent at the lower frequencies. Kahit PHP9000 Sound Magnus Class D amp is ok na.

What you'll generally be looking for is:
- Class D amp - efficiency is king
- Hopefully it goes down to 1 ohm load - it indicates how good the power supply of the amp
- Affordability - because everybody wants savings
