This is it and you are correct, it isn't cheap. He said around 20k, but he can't remember the exact price.

No problem since he had it for about 3 years. He is using hotspot for internet as he isn't sure if it has a slot for simcard.

I'm not aware if this is good when it comes to sound quality. As far as the basic use is concerned, or at least the way he use it, my brother is fully satisfied.

With that budget I was able to upgrade the sounds of my Montero Gen3 kay Jeff of Araneta. All Pioneer - speakers front/back (include tweeter), active subwoofer, amplifier, deadening. Now the sound quality is much better.

I drive a 2017 vios J it doesnt have rear speakers as stock so I had some sony coaxials put in. Now im thinking of adding a sub or getting component speakers up front. Would it be worth it? or should i invest in a better headunit first? the stock headunit has one pair of rca so i think it would be fine if i got a sub.
Since the rear are coaxials I would assume that the soundstage is now pushed at the rear. The stock VIOS speakers are just plain speakers. Technically speaking, your rears are now better sounding that those in front and might push the soundstage towards the rear.

For me, a better sounding system consist of a better soundstage plus adequate power.

I have a VIOS E and I've replaced the stock HU with a Pioneer X595BT. Immediately, the sound became better and louder. The time alignment feature provides great improvement in the sonic quality. Even listening to AM radio became enjoyable as the sound doesn't sound as diffused unlike in the stock HU. The vocals appear to be in the center (this of course, after time alignment trial and error adjustments).

My next project now is to have some deadening and the stock speakers replaced as I can now hear rattles during mid-volume.

INPUTS please. What choices do I have when it comes to DSP that is capable of IOS (IPAD,IPHONE) tuning? Wala na akong PCs and LAPTOPS since I migrated to MAC and IOS. Ayoko naman bumili ng laptop just to tune my DSP. Suggestions guys?

I am currently setting up a budget for a good-enough system.

    Car: 2014 Mazda 3
    Budget: 20-30k
    Source: Spotify Premium over Bluetooth.

    Two options:
    1. Get an all-branded (JBL most probably) seps-amp-sub setup in one sitting, or
    2. Get seps first (20k budget), then amp (no idea) then sub staggered over a few months.

Will I hear a difference in quality between options 1 and 2 considering my source? I don't think I will be upgrading to any high-end formats any time soon. I don't even have CDs anymore

Mickey's 50k Hertz package is tempting.

*JohnM - ask Mickey if he has a Focal or DLS package. I'd with any of those two brands. Maybe third option is Morel.

    imo, both options are good.

i did option 2 sa suv ko, good quality seps saka deadening ng front doors. tonality wise big improvement siya same source as yours spotify saka dap with hi-res music. until now wala pa ako urge to add amp and a sub, ok na ako sa sound ng hu at seps.

i did option 1 sa car at van ko. palit lahat in one sitting. ok din naman if may enough budget ka. isang gastusan na lang, hassle din kasi magpabalik-balik pa sa installer lalo kung malayo ka.

So, DLS is really good... I thought I made a mistake with it.

Based on the feedback here my first choice will be Morel. I like it warm. Haven't auditioned any brand yet though so I'm open to other options. I won't go above 20k for seps kasi baka sayang lang ang capabilities ng speakers sa use case ko.

Parang leaning towards option 2 din ako. Less invasive and baka masaya na ako sa simple speaker upgrade and deadening lang. Ayoko kasi maglagay ng amp under the front seats so if they put it in the trunk may woodworks pa kelangan to install it somewhere that won't affect the luggage space much. Will still depend kung anong speaker ang kayang i-drive with the stock HU. Will definitely listen to the installer's advice when the time comes.

with your budget now, option 2 ka nga bro. check out other popular brands like focal, helix, dls and others. installed focal sa car and van ko, bewith sa suv, all are entry level seps lang yet the sound improved a lot in terms of tonality. i'm not into hardcore audio set-up so hindi ako too clinical whether warm or bright, o kaya yung mga imaging, soundstage, etc. if your music source is good at maayos pag-tune ng installer sa speakers then ok lalabas at magiging mas enjoy makinig while driving. try mo muna walang amp at subwoofer, kapag nakulangan ka sa ingay at bass saka ka na lang magdagdag.

Yep, DLS is really good. Even their budget Reference series are quite good. My old Exalta before had DLS speakers and amplifier in a 2-way active setup.

If you are leaning towards warm-sounding speakers, I would suggest DLS. Morel also had that warm-sounding speakers. These two brands though have speakers that need a bit more power to give them that oomph so I suggest you get a decent amp to power the speakers properly. DLS, Focal, Genesis, Audison, Helix, and JL are a few of the good brands for amplifiers. You can also use some of those newer, more compact class D amps which could easily fit under the front seats.

Thanks for the inputs guys. At least may direction na ang plano ko

Will update kung natuloy. Most probably kay Micky ako papagawa as they're the most convenient. Medyo malayo na si Jonz sakin and allergic ako sa Ortigas Extension Any other recommended shops in the Taguig/Makati area?

Check mo with Alex Ong of Autoline Makati kung ano mga ma-offer nila. However, malaki tiwala ko kay Mickey. Doon rin ako kumukuha ng audio equipment sa kanya before. From Sucat, dinadayo ko pa shop ni Mickey.

I prefer yung mga shops na specialized sa car audio kaya medyo low on the list si Autoline even if they're nearer.

IIRC Mickey did a Mazda 3 din a few years ago. At least kampante akong alam nila ang ins and outs ng oto. Integrated kasi ang HU ng Mazda iba ang setup compared to the usual DIN HUs.

i started at straight jbl setup - seps + amp, then after few months added a 12” subs on a ported box with mono amp.

then it evolved to several brands...and ended up to straight RE setup.
