The GTO1014 is more expensive. It's a "GTO" hence higher than the "GT" in JBL's lineup. The main difference will go to the added 2" that the GT12 has. Since surface area is king when it comes to bass - that's why although there are small subwoofers, larger subwoofers will still eat them for lunch.

I will caution muna sa mga seller. Make sure you trust him. Ask him how long as it been used and make sure to get a personal warranty. While subwoofers are durable speakers, most people especially in the budget range, tend to misuse their subwoofers.

Also, the box should conform to your needs. If trunk space is important, then go for a smaller sealed enclosure over the typically bigger ported box.

There's no such thing as matching in car audio. Your car acoustics alone is the biggest variable and since you can't control that, there's no such thing as "matching" in car audio. Level matching is simply tuning the amplifier gains so that your speakers and subwoofer output isn't overpowering each other -- they're "level" when it comes to their loudness.

sorry to confuse hehe, 7k box with sub na (c/o mickeys pala) ... most likely Mickey's will be my installer

judging by the pics mukang matino pa but who knows :| . un lang wala talaga ako idea on how to check (yung box is by mickey's). pero motst likely 1-2yrs old yun (nabili daw nun 2013, though no month indicated)
from the looks ren nun sub and box mukang sakto lang sa trunk ko (Mitsu GSR)... pag isipan ko maigi...
I saw the adds on KAC pala...

Any suggestion are welcome. Thanks mga bro in advance!

The easiest way on how to check? Well, first thing dyan is the suspension. Press down on it -- if it's too soft then the suspension's loose. If it's too hard -- the suspension is still like brand new. However, if you're a newbie you'd have no way to know what "soft" and "hard" is without experience (it changes on a per-sub basis too).

Kung ganyan, just go for it. Just be extra sure to check the subwoofer's surround (yun rubber around the cone) if it is showing any signs of wear and tear like cracks, etc. That's usually the first thing that'll be worn down.

    I have adilemma regarding...

    Initially ang choice ko is
    JBL GT5 a604 (for focal 165as) and JBL-GTO601-1II (for GTO 1014 sub)
    -both second hand

Ngayon iniisip ko palitan ng Firland audio class D
Firland Audio FX650/1 class D digital mono
    Firland Audio FX300/4 class D digital 4chn.
    -Eto naman both brand new.

san kaya ako mag benefit the most. HU pala would be 80prs !

Yes, actually ideal ang 3ohms if head unit powered. Unfortunately, kakaunti lang ang mga car speakers that comes in 3ohms.
You can always add a external amplifier if you feel you still want to get louder.

advise needed (again)... i am buying a subwoofer, my amp is rated at 4x100wrms at 4ohm unbridged, 2x200wrms at 4ohm bridged.
setting up seps in front and subs at rear. if i buy a dual voice coil sub, can i connect each coil per each channel? or does the subwoofer need to be connected just to the bridged channel in the amp?

Question. I have the following equipment

    Pioneer avh 8650bt
    Focal access 165as
    Focal ffp 4100 amp

Can I connect the tweeter into 2 Chanel's while the other 2 channels will drive the mid range. The amp has only a low pass and high pass filter.

    Tnx

Would the amp be able to set the crossover points for each channel? If not it is quite dangerous to do that. It might just damage your speakers. Better to have an external processor to do that for you. There are cheap ones like those from Firland and Lightning Lab that should work.

Sorry what do you mean oc mode? I'm also not sure a capacitor is something that will prevent the amp from frying your speaker drivers.
