guys, especially sa mga seasoned car audio hobbyists, I need your help. I've been quoted (through email) by a dealer in my place about an item...and the price is way lower than what I expected or have seen through, say the brand's official online store. Should I be wary? Or should I just grab the opportunity, I mean getting the item atleast 25% off. Or better yet, how do I make sure that once I get to see the item (I can't see it right now or verify it now 'coz I'm currently away) I could tell right away that I'm looking at a dodgy item (faked, refurb, etc). TIA for all the input you could give me.

    1) Manufacturer's SRP are always "suggested". Dealers get special prices and can therefore offer discounts.

    2) Do not commit until you've seen the actual product.

    3) Some dealers actually are more expensive because they employ good installers, hindi yung tambay lang sa tabi-tabi tapos per-job ang kita.

what brand are we talking about here? agree with cliff, check the product first and test (if possible) before committing.

I understand that but the diff is really outrageous (imho), 50% less.

That's the thing, since he doesn't have stock, what our setup would be, I'd confirm with him that I'll be pushing through with the purchase, then that'll be the only time he'll order it.

hi! the audio system that came with the 2004 rav 4 (alpine) is mediocre at best. it's like the speakers are made of cheap paper. can someone help me upgrade? i'm not an audiophile but i like my audio system to come up with music where i can hear the Ts and Ps pronounced yung parang crisp and clear. i'm not into super loud music and i need a place that can do the installation, etc. Also, preferably a system where i can plug in an ipod. Budget is about 30k? 50k max thanks!

I was just browsing the west coast custom page when I saw this pic. The ride is a Hummer H2 customized by WCC. nic subs though but look at the pic... something is odd. Hope mods would let me post this pic due to its size

Kung ayaw mo nang mag-audition, punta ka na lang sa mga recommended shops, tell them your objective and your budget.

Still, best recommendation is to audition other installed systems within your budget.

I was reading something in the NissanBayan Forums..and there was something about a P5,000 sound system.

    Here it is below:

.....ok, an all targa setup is nothing new to us you might say. but what set this car apart from the others is that, all are running via HU in 2 ohms. the speakers are 4 targa coaxials front and rear wired parallel through the HU's front speaker level out. the rear speaker out powers the 2 x 10" targa running IB(free-air). his HU btw, is a pioneer(forgot the exact model)...but it's the same series as the 7450.

once in the driver seat, i noticed that the sound was pulled all the way to the back where the 2 coaxials and the 2 x 10" subwoofers. ok, imaging is not its strong suit. but the tonal balance is something you will be amazed with. in fact, if you take-out the imaging in the equation and just based in on it's overall tonal balance...this car would easily put to shame most setups with a budget 3 to 5 times more......

U can hook up a Subwoofer without an amp? or does this guy have an amp?

are the small tweeters placed on the dashboard really necessary for a better sound reproduction? di ba enough na yung smaller speakers in the front portion of the cabin...yung mga usually located beneath the dashboard or on the front doors of the car?

well it depends on the listener. Those tweeters produce the high pitched sound that will make the audio more clear and audible.
