What would you guys recommend?

If possible , I want to retain the head unit and just concentrate on speakers and an amplifier to minimize cost (head unit is a fujitsu ). Ok ba to?

fujitsu hu's in innovas/fortuner stink. they don't play copied disks(burnt cds), they too are quite choosy even with original disks. i remember reading a thread asking for feedback in another local audio enthusiasts' site eliciting the same comments, but we may just be part of a minority, maybe i got a lemon unit. i have since replaced it.

Peace Be With You!

The Fujitsu Ten HU that was included in the Innova is a good unit. Sound is not bad so far. Improving the speakers, separates front and 2 way or 3 way rear is not a problem also. BUT to install an amplifier, it is a problem. You see, our head unit, as I have an Innova G also, is without a RCA to plug the amplifier with. Therefore in order to install an amplifier, we need to splice and tap to the rear speakers output. If you are willing to let the amplifier be tapped to rear speakers output then by all means, the setup you plan is ok.

You can try to do the installation at TEAM Cars at 30-A Banawe St. corner P. Florentino St. beside Dept of Labor HQ near Quezon Ave. Look for Kerwin. I was informed that they already did that trice so they are quite experienced with it. they also cater different brands and can source it out for you.

recently, i said to you that i have this 5.1 rockford fosgate but when i check it(curious) it says 5.3 and 390 watts, i cant still find any model number. what that it means 5.3 (perhaps this is the model?) ANG ALAM ko eh 5.1 and the 390 wattage confuses me, is this means 390 watts all in all(f/r seps and subs). sorry sa mga query liked i said newbie ako sa sound system.

Hmmm. This is hard to say. If the watts is divided by 4 it produces an uneven number as well as divided by 5. The 390 watts can be pertaining to another thing. Just wondering, can you or is it possible for you to take a picture (top view and sides) of it and send it to poringdrops*yahoo.com ? So that I can take a look at the unit. If this is not much of a hassle. Or if you have time, maybe pass by the shop, TEAM Cars at Banawe St. corner P. Florentino St. beside Dept of Labor HQ and look for Kerwin and seek some advise as well. They are open on sunday as well up to 2 pm.

That is if your amp is equipped with a high input (speaker level). RCAs are more likely low input (pre amp). carefull you might fry your precious amp.

5 channel amp

40watts rms/channel x 4 channels at 4 ohms + 130watts rms x 1ch * 4ohms (lo/sub) or

65w rms / ch x 4 ch (that is if you wire your speakers into 2ohms config) + 130 w rms x 1 ch * 4 ohms for lo/sub

Im sorry to say pero wala ka makukuhang sub w/ box na mura tapos maganda. i suggest buy a storm 12" and diy 2.5cu ft ported box (P5k+/-all in)

PS use 3/4 med density fiberboard (mdf)

it seems na madaming kang alam sa sound system, tanong ko lang pwede kaya akong mag install ng 2 sub sa amp. ko. para kasing odd tingnan pag one piece lang ang sub. the thing is, di ko kasi binili yung amp bayad utang lang sa akin. sa manual isa lang ata ang pwede ayon yun sa understanding ko. ok rin ba itong amp ko, sorry little know how pagdating sa mga sound system. siguro kelangan ko ng additional amp pag install ko dalawang subs.
