thanks bluebimmer![]()
Yup, there is a source of bimmer surplus parts in Manila - at Autovecs, along E. Rod, near Cubao.
Are any of you guys using the Red and white tailights for the BMW na gawa Taiwan? Its cheaper but i am worried about ite reliability and if it will last.
I'm selling my Hamann 19" HM2 mags with Continental tires sa classifieds.
Some more BMW stuff for sale:

Wala lang, just got interested in reading this.... once a year lang ang maintenance? Ganyan ba kareliable ang M3 kahit daily driven?
ale828,
Even the original tail lights become brittle over time due to weather changtes, so the Taiwan replicas will do while its in fashion. Buy another replica when a new fashion tail light comes out before they become brittle too, and their pricing is not so bad. For as long as they do not short circuit or is recognized by the OBC as ok, then I will use them myself.
josh0027,
As for standard maintenance (change oil/filter, spark plugs, various filters (fuel/AC, air), brake pads (longer than a year), brake fluid check, ATF check) - our cars do get serviced only once a year or even longer like 15 months. Not sure about the M3 specifically as we do not have that, but for the models that we have, the claim is true.
bm5er: Mali pala, dapat sinabi ko e36/e46... iba nga pala M3. My bad. Ganun pala basic maintenance... so kung P24,000+ ang Inspection II, parang 6k lang every 3 months... parang nagmamaintain ka lang ng jap sedan, tama ba? Yung madugo lang ang parts. 50K for aircon service?? 80K for busted sensor(?). =(
I would worried too. Reliability, quality and fitness are not too great on their products. I've once bought a clear sidemarker that was made in Taiwan because it was cheaper than an OEM. When I tried to fit 'em on, I could hear it snapped but loose. So I improvised in fixing it by wrapping a masking tape around the clip to prevent it from movement. But after a week, there was moisture seeped inside the lens creating condensation inside. I wound up replacing it with an OEM clear and didn't have any problem with it since.Originally Posted by ale828
I would go with the OEM's as well. Just like bm5er and JCsE46 said, you might wind up replacing them in the near future... Doble pa gastos.
josh,
yup, we had a corolla gli before and quarterly service amount to about the same as the bimmer once a year.
25 to 30k lang AC replacement sa Euro Motors or AutoVec.
Not sure about which sensors you refer to...
There are special fixes though that comes out say, when you change into 18" wheels. You have got to get sports suspension (springs and shocks) installed first, then reckon with yearly replacements of bushings, tie rods and the like. It's the cost of better handling, performance and porma. This is true with any car, and am not sure how much the cost for non-euro cars. If you get the M-sport models, then they have sports suspension as OEM so you don't have to worry much.
My taiwan-made german-branded lights are ok so far, no leaks, fits well. My old oem ones even broke at the corners when i took them off, probably because they are old na.
Yung sensors pala should be the ECU, backtrack lang ako. And this guy paid 81K casued by an enginewash!!! Deym...Originally Posted by bm5er
And there's another comment na 45K ang replacement ng whole brake assembly.. maybe casa.
bm5er, what's the bmw ph forum site? Di ata gumagana ang link na nakuha ko dito. Gusto lang mag research ng konti.![]()

Sulit ba itong sa friend ko?
1988 BMW 525i
Dinan Full-Aero Kit (Front, Side & Rear Skirts)
Dinan Muffler
Dinan 19" Rims
OEM Spoiler
for only around 400K
That looks like a really nice car. But be careful, madami mga problems ang bmw 525i especially the early models. overheating, transmission problems, etc. A friend of mine sold a 92' 525i he just bought in less than a year because of all the problem he encountered with it.Originally Posted by mazdamazda

door moldings fell off and had to be replaced three times (!)
replace brakes
replace camshaft sensor
replace fried battery
plus i had to replace all 4 tires as part of regular maintenance, marker bulbs all around, and the wipers twice.
ok ba ang stock 97 523i (e39?) with 60+T Km? anyone affected by the Nikasil issue here in Pinas? see http://www.bmwcarclubforum.co.uk/nikasil.htm

Wow, something to look forward on my tsikot. 30,000 miles here, they already have to repair the sunshade on the moonroof broken clip, replaced the brake rotor and pad, replace two rear tires due to out of alignment and replaced the cigarette lighter outlet,Originally Posted by M54 Powered
