i was driving home one day, and i took a glance at the rear view mirror... and there was suddenly a white 5 series behind me.

nakakainitimidate pala yun mga headlights nun! its like an angry angry angel(white kase) staring at me, telling me WTF is a slow RAV doing here! get outaway!!!! hehehe

very very nice car! kahit yun mga nakikita ko nagpapatint na 7 series sa ATC... very nice!

i like the 7 series.. as for the 3 series.. well.. it does need a little getting use to... but for me... i like th E30 body... masya na ako kung makakuha ako ng E30 na 325i.... hehe.e.. out of the question na yung M3 eh.. eheheh

for the 5 series.. hmm.. i like the 5 na kasabayan nung E30.. dunno the model...E36 ata?... hehehe

Hi Mike,

I believe the E30 straddled 2 5-series models, the E28 and the E34. Rollie's 525i is an E34.

Bagay yan sa 'yo! Nakakaingit naman garahe mo kung magkatabi yan at yung C- Class. I'm sure you'll be tempted to put a sofa in your garage just to spend more time with your cars.

Yup, I've heard a lot of good things about Tsikot so I decided to visit. Tama nga sila. Ang galing. So many insights on new and old cars.

Back to the topic: Ganda ng E46 Hens! Ika nga ni Johan ng MBCP, yan ang "maginoon na medyo bastos".

from my experience, cost of maintainance of BMWs are just about the same as high end jap cars (e.g., Honda Accord, etc.). shocking ang service cost but, from my experience, you'll do it less often. our accord requires service (according to the casa) every 5k kms or 3 mos. the BMW gets serviced 1ce a year (sometimes, even every 15 months). in fact, if you follow the service lights, you'll end up having service every 2 years (but of course you have to replace your brake fluid every year). in the end, service costs the same.

for major service parts, you win some, you lose some. for other parts, BMWs will tend to be a little more expensive. but then again, the difference in enjoyment is tremendous and this is what you're paying for (you get what you pay for).

plus, if you maintain your car well, BMWs will last you 30 years and they'll still look and run great (just look at the well-maintained E30s running around).

tsikoteers, may tanong lang ako, im planning to buy a 1994 bmw 318i (us ver), mura lang ba maintenance nito? and if ever ano kaya ang madaling bumigay o masira (since 1994 pa siya) thanks in advance! :D

no, maintenance for the e36 bmw is very expensive...make sure you're prepared for the inevitable repair bills.

the main weak spots for the e36 are the water pump (plastic impellers) and the rear suspension (shock mounts). make sure these are in good shape before buying. the power windows and the thermostat also can fail.

oh, two more things that are more of annoyances - the headlights for some reason have a tendency to fog up, and the glue bmw uses to secure headliners, weather stripping, etc. has a tendency to fail.

i'm not trying to discourage you, because these are great cars that you will really enjoy. just keep your eyes open when buying.
