December 21st, 2009 10:19 PM #3053*jmpet626: normally if im waxing a car with paste waxes i just do it manually but on the times i get too lazy to do it manually i just get a hair dryer, blow some hot air to the can ( while still covered, this way it doesn't dry up the oils ) until the wax gets soft and get a butter knife and spread them on the LC pads much like spreading butter on bread. Unless you're using the 4 inch LC pads i don't think it would fit inside the mouth of the can so i guess heating up the wax and spreading it thinly and evenly would be your best bet.
Hope this helps.

I'm not madkatz, but IMO, get one if you're that interested. With a special technique, it really helps in minimizing wash-induced scratches.

If it were me, I'd get either the first or the third because of the brass fittings. The final choice would be yours.

December 25th, 2009 01:26 AM #3060*water: I would agree with jon, get the one with brass fittings so that it would last you longer, and yeah using a foam gun used with the proper technique would give you better and cleaner swirl free results as compared to a bucket system, thats why i would suggest to everyone the does a bucket wash to get a grit guard for extra protection. Too bad i wasn't able to order any from autogee, last time so im still stuck with my make shift grit guard. Oh yeah BTW i don't use a foam gun so i can't really comment on it based on my experience but i read a lot of good comment regarding using them and on one occasion i was at my BF's friends place where we detailed their car and they had a foam gun it does seem to make washing safer, although lugging around the foam gun while wiping your wash mitt might tire you faster, its a lot safer especially if you rinse your wash mitt in a dedicated rinse bucket to loosen up grit particles.
As for waxes that would depend on which brand and at how many you plan on shipping here. If you're planning on shipping just one or two bottles or cans of waxes that are already available here in the local market then you're better off buying them here, As for those waxes that are not readily available here then it would really cost you more to ship them not to mention that most of those tailor made waxes are already a bit more expensive as compared to the normal consumer line, Now if you're planning on shipping more than one product lets say you're getting it from autogeek or some other online store or some detail store in the US and you plan on getting a lot of different kinds waxes and sealants lets say, some Klasse twins, or WG DPS, or OP opti seal, or collinite 915, or FK hi temp wax and pinnacle souveran then buying and having them shipped here would definitely make things more economical especially if you know someone thats coming here or if you know someone that could send them to you VIA balikbayan box. I just got my PC 7424 XP and some gallon chemicals and some megs gallons 2 weeks ago and it really costed me a lot less than buying them here locally but the thing is i had the whole balikbayan box filled up with different products to maximize the space and i just ended up spending 85$ for balikbayan box + 300 pesos for local delivery.
