December 25th, 2009 04:02 AM #3061madkatz,
Babae ka pala. Kakagulat marami ka alam sa pag detail ng kotse.
Kasi may pupunta sa usa next year tapos uuwi din after ilan months kaya magpapabili ako foam gun and wax.

December 25th, 2009 05:46 AM #3062*water: yup im a girl, my fondness about cars started with me being OC about my car especially when i had it waxed at shell retiro and it got lots of swirls all over it, since then i've gone a long way into knowing how to take proper care of my car
My mistake it should be WG DGPS, Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant.
My Recommendations would be
Sealant:
Klasse AIO and SG Combo - two step system thats a good value for money and nice shine
Megs 21 - One step Paint sealant, lasts as long as KSG, plays nicely when used with other Megs products
WG DGPS - A little more expensive but definitely looks better than KSG, somewhat like a wax effect although not as much like souveran quality as they claim it is
Optimum Polymers Opti-Seal - Cheaper Sealant i know, 25$ i think, lasts a little shorter than KSG but very easy to apply
Duragloss Aqua wax - Cheapest Sealant i've tried, not considered as a wax, gives a nice shine but doesn't last as long as compared to the ones listed above
Waxes:
Collinite 476 - the most durable wax i've ever tried, a few washes would remove the shine and gloss but it still protects for months.
Collinite 915 - a better looking version of 476 but lasts shorter as well
FK Hi Temp Wax - slightly less than 476 in terms of durability but looks a lot better
Collinite 845 - for those lazy days when you want to wax using liquid wax and want it to last up to a month
Optimum Polymers Car Wax - Cheap wax with a nice durability, very easy to apply just like using a QD but lasts as long as a regular wax
Duragloss Paste wax - roughly much like 915 in terms of durability, doesn't seem to shine and enhance looks that much but its price is very economical, i don't know if its still in circulation though
Prestone Car Wax - made of synthetic carnauba? didn't even know such a thing existed, another cheap wax thats under rated, a bit thick and hard to apply, decent gloss much like #26 and beads very well and lasts a little longer than the regular wax
If its overall performance i would rather go with Klasse AIO and SG and Collinite 476
Hope this helps
Merry Christmas

December 25th, 2009 07:18 AM #3063Wow! Babae nakakaalam nito.
How much each yang mga nabili mo?
Dati pala nakapag-wax na ako kotse. Turtle wax lang ginamit ko. Grabe maghapon ako natapos. Kuminis naman. Pero next time magpapatulong ako sa day-off ng car wash boy. Bayaran ko na lang labor nya.
Sobrang maraming salamat sa explanation mo. Nakakagulat talaga babae nagdedetail.

December 25th, 2009 12:57 PM #3064*water: I don't know from which and what stores the items i had shipped here were bought from, but majority of the items i have here is bought from autogeek which is an online store, i only have my friend look for those items not available in autogeek in stores near her area, according to her there seems to be a lot of stores in the California area that carries these different products especially the larger hardware stores.
As for Klasse, its actually not that hard to apply and remove, just have a water spray bottle and set it to mist, i actually find Klasse AIO to be a bit easier to remove as compared to waxes and as for the SG the water spray bottle helps a lot, i can do a Klasse twin application in about 3 hours or less, after that is all left for the SG to cure for about 12 to 24 hours.
Hmm the reason why i classified Klasse AIO and SG as a two step is because AIO is best designed to be used with SG, its pretty much like AIO cleans and protects the paint without removing and reducing paint and then SG further enhances the protection and gloss of the paint. Klasse AIO alone can already give you a durable protection its just that using both with amplify the results and make it worth while
As for simply protecting, all other items i have listed are used along in terms of your monthly protection. In the detailing scene theres what you call a 3 step, a 2 step and a 1 step.
the 3 step is when you apply a compound followed by a polish and then a sealant or a wax
the 2 step is when you apply a polish or cleaner followed by a sealant or a wax
and the 1 step is when you use an All-in-one wax like Mothers carnauba cleaner wax, Megs cleaner wax, Quick Detailer #66, Klasse AIO and a whole lot more, these waxes cleans you paint making the color shine at the same time providing protection, however the protection this offers is not as durable (with the exception of Klasse AIO ) as compared to the pure LSP
And then there's the pure LSP stage where all of the products i have listed under my previous post falls, this is usually done monthly and is designed to protect only, it has no cleaners or polishes.
I think i got you a bit mixed up, sorry for that, So bottom line is what do you consider as the "one step" you mention above? Are you pertaining to a LSP ( Last Step Procedure) that purely protects? If so, then all of the products listed previously are lets say "one step LSP's" and if you're pertaining to One step waxes, then as mentioned there's Moms Carnauba cleaner wax, Megs Deep cleaner wax, and a whole lot more
As for the prices of the items just check out autogeek.net, i think the only one i didn't get there is prestone at 9$, and FK Hi temp wax at 20$ and Duragloss paste wax at 13$ since they weren't available from autogeek that time.
Actually waxing doesn't need to be very tiring, if you're just waxing and merely protecting the paint then you wouldn't even be tired after applying waxes, what most people do it apply pressure while waxing which is pointless IMO its just the same as lightly gliding the applicator over the paint, same results, and as for buffing it off, once you learn to apply really thin layers of LSP then removing them would be a breeze.
Hope this helps, Sorry for the confusion with the previous posts description
Merry Christmas

I'm sure you will discover more info that would satisfy your curiosity.
Hope this helps.

December 26th, 2009 03:48 PM #3067*water: as for carnauba cleaner waxes i haven't been able to test a lot of products, the only ones i've tried are Megs, Moms, and TW.
476 is a pure wax and its not considered a cleaner wax.
As for p21s and s100, i have both and yes they are pretty much the same, but also take note that the s100 i have is also slightly smaller as compared to p21s so its not really half the price. p21s and s100 are really good waxes if you are after that show car shine, its give you excellent gloss and depth but if you are after durability and protection then you better stick with 476, until now i have yet to come across a wax that outlasts this wax. the p21s only lasted me 3 washes and its gone it didn't even last 1 month of our rainy season. but hands down its the next best wax i've tried second only to pinnacle souveran in terms of looks in terms of dark cars. if its lighter colored cars im still with p21s in terms of look over pinnacle souveran
As for stoners, i haven't tried any of their products so i don't know anything about it, but i just might try and order some in the next coming months.
And im with jon with reading through autopia and autogeek forums
And i so agree with the first link, its my favorite routine/step up, Klasse AIO + KSG + wait one day then KSG again + 476 (915 on black cars) wait 8 hours and 476/915 again. This is one real tough protection you're putting on, it could really last you 3 months and longer if you maintain it monthly with additional topping of waxes.

December 26th, 2009 05:02 PM #3069*albino: ok in terms of what? if you mean ok in comparison with real waxes then its definitely below par, but if your puprose would be to enhance and slightly protect the car more after your weekly washing then most spray waxes actually help. Spray waxes IMO are designed to be used after every washing buffed on a dry paint to add a little more protection and gloss to the paint. As for spray waxes that does a decent job in doing these i would recommend Moms Fx spray wax and Reflections Spray wax. As for megs you could try their quik wax its a decent spray wax and the same goes for NXT spray wax both are decent and nice value for money. Now if you want a really nice spray wax thats great for black cars ( read in your other post you have a black car ) then i would recommend you get the ultimate quik wax and an added bonus is its hydrophobic polymers, but its a lot more expensive since its around 750 to 800 bucks and most spray waxes just range from 450 to 600 only. Moms Reflections Spray wax costs around 600 but is also nice especially when it comes to black cars, it makes the paint a lot more reflective. Quik detailer BTW is not considered a spray wax.

December 26th, 2009 05:51 PM #3070*madkatz thanks. my purpose is something to apply after i have cleaned the car, somewhat of a protection maybe? i'm looking for spray waxes in particular because the car(grandis) is big, so i'm looking for something that is easy to apply. and are spray waxes safe for the paint even if i apply it like weekly?
re: Moms Reflections Spray, thanks, i'll check on that product too.
