Get a Cleaner-wax.
Then apply manually by hand. Initial application should somewhat diminish the swirls.

gamit ko lang kasi basahan na basa lang, ... as much as possible ayoko mag pa engine wash kasi parang delikado? medyo mahirap kasi tanggalin yung mga mantsa ng oil/grease at dust sa makina

ano kaya maganda detailing technicque for silver colored vehicle? I have a toyota innova kasi and I want to make it shiny from time to time ksi ako din naglilinis. Ayoko ipacarwash sa mga tabi-tabing car wash area lng hehe.

I bought Mom's Step 1 and 2 but opted for Meg's NXT 2.0. Balak ko sana Carlock68 synthetic kso wla ako mahanap. I'm only after sa shine and gloss.

Also, while I bought those stuff sa TV sa shang, bumili na rin ako Cali Duster, bka 30% off sila together with yung Jelly Blade kso di na ako bumili, yung alternative na lng yung nga lng mukhang di ko magagamit, di ako confident na di magagasgas eh, cguro sa windows na lng hehe.

add'l question, after washing my car, I noticed na daming sand and asphalt particles sa lower portion ng car lalo na dun sa likod ng mud guards, anong way pwede to alisin? Clay bar ba will do without scratching yung paint? Ksi malalaki yung mga particles. Looking forward for any response. thanks!

kerosene will do... just don't forget to follow it up with carnauba wax.

I use liquid carnauba wax. Many name-brand wax manufacturers use only #1 yellow-grade carnauba, which is the highest grade available and also the most expensive. Incredibly durable, carnauba dries to a deep, natural shine compared to beeswax, paraffin and synthetic waxes, which can become cloudy. So read all the info on back of the bottle or can.

Paste wax are natural and they are good too but, it melt when weather is hot unlike liquid wax are synthetic. Paste wax was hand-applied ala Karate Kid style (the movie) to protect the finish and bring out its shine. So its your choice. Anyway, my car is silver color also.

hi people just a quick question

see i have swirls around my brand new car and i was wondering whats the best way to remove these? now i know that this question have been answered a lot of times already but i kinda still don't get what comes first

they say if you can feel the scratch, when you run your fingernail thru it, its no longer fixable even by using rubbing compound, what steps can i take to ensure these scratches don't get any worse or don't further get contaminants inside the creases? will sealants and wax already do the trick?

im more inclined towards filling the swirls only, i am kinda not that amenable to the idea of reducing my clear coat drastically

can anybody suggest any really good
Polish?
Glaze?
A good polish or glaze with moderate abbrasive?
A good polish or glaze with very light abbrasive?
A good polish or glaze with no abbrasives but also has good filling abilities?

right now i have the ff.

mothers step 1 to 3
megs swirl remover ( really mild abrasive only 3 at abrasive level of megs i think, more of a filler than a polish)
3m IHG
3m Scratch remover
TW color magic (if this actually helps even if just masking it)
Carlack AIO and SG
Collinite 476

as far as i know its supposed to be

1. wash ( wheels first and using 2 bucket system for body )
2. clean the bottom part for asphalt and stuffs with kerosene
3. wash again
4. clay ( with QD as lubricant ) ( which is better shampoo solution or QD? )
5. wash again then dry

and here's where i get lost

9. Carlack SG 2x ( Applying to the whole car then leaving it for 1 hour before buffing off and leaving it for 24 hours to cure properly)

Based on your objective (filling defects) and the products that you have:

1) wash
2) clay
3) Mothers Pre-wax Cleaner
4) Mothers Sealer and Glaze
5) Mothers Carnauba Wax

Reason: IMO, it's better to stick to a product's system, rather than mix and match products.

You could still use your other products (i.e. use the Megs Swirl Remover instead of the Mothers Pre-wax Cleaner, or use the 3M IHG instead of the Mothers Sealer and Glaze, or use the Collinite 476 instead of the Mothers Carnauba Wax) if you're in the mood to experiment.

You could also use Carlack products, although I'm not sure though if they would fill better than the Mothers UWS. You could try it and keep us posted on your results. Thus you could:

1) wash
2) clay
3) use Carlack68 Nano Systematic Care
4) use Carlack Long Life Sealant

Whatever product you choose, just take note of its "function" so you could avoid redundant or unnecessary steps.

for now it would be by hand, but im saving up for a ROP so i might as well get your take on machine application as well, thanks

I see.

You could get the Megs UC and the SwirlX if you're going to do some correction.

The glazes you possess have some filling and mild "cleaning" properties, so if the performance of these products are ok with you, then I guess you don't have to find new ones.

If you're after a glaze that still fills but has no "cleaning" properties, then you might want to consider the Danase Wet Glaze.

I just got my 2009 FD Taffeta white last 2 july. Yesterday I asked my maid to clean the car and since it has rained much in our area non stop, maduming madumi na talaga. Previously I noticed road grime and asphalt build-up (maliliit na maitim) that has stuck dry to lower portions of the car. Not minding those black specks as I plan to remove them on my own, di ko muna sya inalis. I was shocked to realized that my maid did the initiative of removing those, kaso she used scotch brite and gas. Natural naalis but the scratches and swirls left are significant. Kainis!!! Can these still be buffed out DIY? Hu hu. Hassle kasi kung ipasok ko pa sa shop, gastos na, la pa ako car!

If the defects are not deep, then yes, they may be corrected through polishing.

Whether or not it should be DIY is another matter. Unless you have successfully done some paint correction on that car, I humbly suggest that you have it checked by a pro detailer.

A wash mitt is a big glove with either wool or cotton/chenille nap. The purpose of the wash mitt is to be able to hold more water and car shampoo solution and allow you to was a larger surface area. The nap will also capture and trap dirt and prevent it from scrubbing on the paint surface of your car.

Swirls are very shallow BUT numerous scratches on your car's paint. If you park your car under the sun or if you aim a flashlight to your car, and you start seeing cobweb like patterns, swirls yon. Improper washing techniques often cause swirl marks. (Having your car washed by those pesky mall carwash boys is a sure fire way of getting swirlmarks. :D )



Try using your car shampoo first... maybe even try using it undiluted (pure) on the grease spots. If it works, make sure to immediately follow up with a full coat of car wax.

what's the best wash mitt in the market sir? and where can i buy this? i used the softest cloth in our house and it still left swirls and sadly on a black car their quite visible..

i use a cotton/chennile wash mitt that i bought at Ace Hardware... of course, technique is also important... try to do it with forward and backward strokes only... not circular motion.

Before you do anything to fix those scratches, you should solve your cat problem first. Like it or not, your cat has already designated your innova as its home. Aakyat yan ng aakyat, at mamanchanan at gagasgasin.

If you fix those scratches now, the following day, pwede ka muli magka-scratch because of your cat.

Get a car cover or find another way to dissuade your cat from climbing the car.

Then that's the time you should consider repairing the damage.
