*all who owns OGE: repelling dust grime and other contaminants are indeed one of the main selling points of OGE second to improving gloss but don't use OGE prior to applying waxes and sealants since the same repelling abilities also prevent the waxes and sealants from bonding properly, we just tested it this afternoon and we used OGE on a Pajero on one side and Megs Last touch on the other side, we slapped on some 915 and wiped it off via wax on wipe off method, and the side where we applied OGE didn't bead as much as compared to that of the Megs last touch, but when we clayed the same panel to remove the waxes and used Last touch prior to waxing with 915 and used OGE after, the beading was better.
Hey folks! Been following this thread for some time now, although hindi ko pa rin nababasa lahat (May naka basa na ba ng LAHAT ng post dito sa thread? Bilib ako kung meron! ) I missed the first seminar, I won't miss this oneMay puwede mag bigay ng directions?
I actually made my first attempt at detailing yesterday! Unfortunately, biglang umulan right after I washed the car! Pag minalas ka nga naman...
Anyway, nung humupa na ulan (covered naman garage, pero open sides) I did a quick clean, then I clayed the entire car. Galing! Talagang nagiging smooth after running the clay over several times. Pero may ibang ayaw talaga matanggalFirst question - any way to remove those really stubborn stuff? Not sure what they are, eh. Will check it later.
Since feeling ko malapit na umulan uli, I decided to just do the trunk. (Please correct me if may ginawa ako mali or if you have suggestions.) I started with Mother's pre-cleaner wax. This confused me because I know dapat polish pero sa dami ng binasa ko, hindi ko na alam kung ano ang example ng mga polishes. So I thought, Step 1, I guess it's safe to use this. I expected to have some swirls and scratches removed, pero very, very light scratches lang nawala. Wipe on wipe off din ito? Necessary ba ang pre-cleaner or dapat polish na? What are some of the recommended polishes?
This brings me to my next step, I used Mother's Step 2 Sealant and Glaze. Noticeable yung linis, pero I was expecting na mawawala na yung mga scratches. (Yung scratches na brought about by wiping your car with lumang t-shirt na may halong polyster, hehe. Pero not me! Former owner!) Is this supposed to be able to remove the light scratches and swirls? Should I have rubbed the compound in harder? Wipe on wipe off din ito, right?
Finally, nag hanap ako ng wax. I was looking for Mother's Step 3, pero they only had Synwax. Late ko na lang na basa na mas maganda talaga carnauba for black to give it depth, tama ba? Oh well...
I understand that for pure sealants like Synwax, dapat may 12-24 hour curing time? Well, since I was just trying it out, nag apply na din ako after step 2 (trunk lang naman). The results? Pretty nice shine, although I was hoping parang more depth. Feeling ko could be shinier if walang mga scratch marks. Also, was not sure kung WOWO din ito; kailangan ba ipa-dry muna?
Anyway, so much for my first attempt. That's why I need to attend sa Sunday!!!
Depending on conditions, pero normally touch dry na sya in a couple of hours (meaning you can already feel that it is dry, pero magkaka-marks pa yan for example diinan ng mga fingers, magma-mark ang fingerprints)..fully cured na sya in 2-3 days (puwede na i-rubbing etc..)
kailangan ba patuyuin yung nano-glos before i-buff? i tried it on my dad's car hoping to conceal the swirls.... apply using the straight line method then buff off after 5 mins... andun parin yung swirls... or masyado na malala yung swirls para sa nanoglos pag ganun?
OMG! I just read na claying removes that layer of protection pala?! Uh oh! I guess I'll have to do Step 2 and 3to the entire car na, and not just the trunk! Sana hindi umulan ... *crossing fingers and toes*

Procedure is always clay first before applying pre-wax cleaner, there are a lot of pre-wax cleaners out there and most have different levels of cut and functions and effects, there are some just remove old layers of wax and sealants, some are a little more aggressive in the sense that some can remove ultra fine swirls and scratches, after using the pre-wax cleaner you apply a glaze, the moms step 2 glaze has very very mild polishes that just helps improve the gloss nothing more, it can't really do any proper correction on the paint its just for gloss and it contains fillers that can hide swirls temporarily, if you want to remove the scratches and swirls permanently then you should really use a polish, and yes Step 2 is a wipe on wipe off product, but with some people they get better results when the work the product a little bit by going over it for a few more passes. Synwax is also good in terms that for me it provides better protection and the shine lasts longer, synwax has a more reflective and mirror shine as compared to carnauba's but you could always slap on a layer of carnauba on top of synwax, for this you might want to try and cure it for 8 hours, synwax for me is a little different since for me its really not a pure sealant as compared to carlack and other acrylic sealants. if you really want the scratches to go away, you might have to buy 2 products, one is swirlX and one is scratchX, you use swirlx for light swirls and scratches, and scratchx for the deeper ones.
NO!!! hahahaha well theoretically it should be left to dry, but i've always had problems with that wax if i leave it too long to dry, its a lot harder to remove once its dry pretty much like collinite, so what i do is wipe on wipe off, either that or when you're waxing try putting in under the sun for some reason that wax loves heat and becomes a lot easier to remove when its a little hot, but then again its not always a good idea to bake the paint and wax under the sun so my suggestion is just stick with the WOWO, there are really some swirls that can't be removed by Nano Glos, if thats the case then its already a bit too deep.
which wax are you planning on using? gold class carnauba plus looks damn good on blacks but also falls a little short on durability, NXT is great for filling swirls and scratches and you could take advantage of is hyprophobic technology especially nowadays its raining, again this depends on your goals i've only commented on the two most popular waxes from Megs but the #26 high tech yellow wax, the standard 3rd step in the 3step process of meguiars accredited detailers, is also not half bad and looks great on most cars which makes it versatile and it also lasts a little longer than some OTC's

Freakin' rain again. Caused flooding all around Manila.
Cool thing is, though, when I reached for the car to go home, lahat ng tubig bilog bilog hahaha. And it has very few watermarks.
Thank GOD for ONR!It made my cleaning a lot easier. Pang tamad talaga haha.
2 hours ang byahe ko ngayon from school to our house dahil sa pesteng baha.
Now my clutch is squeaking again.

I dunno if glass polishing can solve the problem. Thing is tuwing tuloy tuloy lang ang ulan which means laging basa ang windshield, tsaka siya nagjjudder at squeak.
^^^ absolutely the same problem here.
pag prolonged na yung rain saka nagjujudder.
tiningnan ko yung OEM wiper... NWB.
contemplating on getting bosch wipers
