Suggest ko sir if you're dealing with watermarks sa glass surfaces, use Elevo watermark remover.. Very effective.. Haven't tried on non-glass surfaces eh..
I use Turtle Wax Polishing Compound because I'm cheap. It works, what I'm worried about is that it works too well and takes a lot of paint along with it. Guess I'll just have to be carefull...

Elevo? That's that one where the instructions call for rubber gloves right? Might be too strong for paint.

I see.. Kapag po may paint na yung applicator after applying, it's a sign na manipis na ang clearcoat or there's no clearcoat at all na.. Tip ko lang sir is don't use too much pressure when applying.. Start from the most gentle pressure muna.. Kapag di natanggal, palakas ng palakas ang pressure..

*Starex_Gold: Sorry for the late reply, my aunt asked a huge favor from me that kept me busy over the week, and i went to baguio for the holy week. For brand new cars, well i would suggest, claying, sealant and then carnauba wax, but since its already detailed and since you frequently wax, what you did is already good. and nice detail BTW very clean especially along the seams.

*mada: yes you need to wax more frequently because the climate here is quite unforgiving, the need to wax often also depends on the wax you are using, most waxes can easily last 1 month of summer season and less during rainy season, and some waxes like collinite, dupont and others last even up to 2 months of rainy seasons, it all boils down to proper maintenance. Again QD's are just for improving looks, if you want protection you are better off at using spray waxes. I actually might have a quick solution to your problem regarding easy waxing soon haha.

*RustyXIII: well the turtle wax polishing compound is really strong, its actually like some brands rubbing compound already. TW's rubbing compound is literally like sand paste. Well for one you shouldn't use polishing compound on that area since its not really painted with a polishable paint. It comes off because it does not have clear coat, most of the times its just painted black and beneath its just plastic or metal, either way polishing is not the proper way to maintain it, true at first polishing it might actually give you results, but after some time you would end up with a whiter and duller surface to work with not to mention the color or paint is getting worn off. For these things you need to use an All purpose cleaner to remove what ever is in there and clean it and then use Meguiars Trim Detailer or Mothers Back to Black or some other trim detailer to make it look blacker and remove the white stains. These trims can also be dyed black again by some specialty shops, i forgot where i had mine done, and to some people once these parts get white or dull, they just re-paint it again with a flat black spray paint, but polishing will really remove the paint in it, if you want to protect that part use dressings and non silicone based protectants. Some people also use polish just to spot treat that area especially if its left with a nasty stain by bird dropping or water mark, but you have to take not that while polishing can remove these stains it can also easily remove the outer layer of paint, and is some cases the laminated plastic, so you need to follow it up with a protectant or dressing or trim detailier

if my wax last at least a couple of weeks then i can use spray wax between it. at least i'll still wax my car every wash.

i'll wait for that solution madkatz.

well...ito po ngyari sa car ko..
    i bought it, dust came
then wash it , no wax.
week later, wash it then wax..

when i read here something about brand new car then wax and detailing first...wew...kulang sa research diko nabasa agad. pero ok lang di naman naapiktohan ang kinis...no sealant applied to the car lang..may magandang protection parin ba pag ganito?

Ginamitan ko ng D'best APC yung dash natanggal naman yung dumi pero naging dull yung surface. Pag nilagyan ko ng protectant bumabalik naman yung shine pero parang temporary effect lang siya. Pwede ba gamitan ng Mothers Back to Black yung dash?

Medyo malaki pala ang bottle ng Simple Green MAX.. It costs P400.. Tanong ko lang kung nakakarestore din ba ito ng black trims aside from being a degreaser?

Probably not. Grease is not the only culprit for dirty trims.

For the wax stains, since you've already got SG, you can try treating the affected area with SG using a toothbrush. Years ago, I had a lot of success using APC (Meg's all purpose cleaner) with a toothbrush.

For the water stains, I'm not sure. I'd say vinegar but that might discolor your black trim.

    My chance to give back...

I used Simple Green (not MAX) 1:1 dilution on plastic trims and they came out clean but looking very dry. Namuti talaga at nagmukhang luma. All was not lost because an application of Armor All fixed it. I think cleaning it first was a good move because a clean surface made the dressing stick better.

After you get you trims cleaned and restored, don't forget to dress them before you polish and/or wax your car. The dressing will prevent wax and polish from clinging to your trims.

Mga friends.. I need a quick reply po

    Simple question

Pupwede po bang after mga 1 minute or 2 minutes after applying Turtle Wax (ordinary turtle wax) pwede nang i-buff off agad? Kasi pag natuyo ng husto ang hirap na tanggalin eh, minsan nag-iiwan pa ng dry residue niya, and I just thought kapag mahirap na ibuff off, tendency is lagyan mo ng pressure just to remove it, baka maka scratch ng paint..

    TIA mga sirs!

*mada: sealants are just there to give you that extra protection on your car in case the wax fails, if you wax regularly then your car should already have sufficient protection. Sealants lasts longer than waxes but IMO waxes protect better, so if you can wax your car every 2 week during rainy seasons and monthly during the dry seasons, and keep a handy QD and MF towel for removing those bird bombs and tree saps then you're good to go.

*jmpet626: well, it looks like you used a strong concentration of APC there, either that or D'best APC is really strong for interior. For interior i only use branded APC's and i make sure its really diluted to the lowest concentration. I used an APC that some chemical company wants me to test and i also ended up with a dull dash which i didn't get with Megs. What i did was use a stronger concentration of Megs Hyper Dressing, Mother Back to Black or now called Naturally Black can also work wonders, but with Naturally Black you get a better feel, it makes dash and trims softer and much like new, but with Naturally Black you need to re-apply for those scenario's and especially for sun burnt dash and trims, and then once its back to its good old look, you can maintain it with single applications. One other thing you could use is Armor All Gel, but don't use it monthly, for me its a little too concentrated and sticky, but it does a great job of restoring dash and vinyl.

*Chikselog: it will not restore trims to its original look, it will however do a nice job of cleaning the trims and rubber parts of mineral deposits from water spots and bonded protein from bird droppings, the Simple Green Max is really strong! so better dilute it 1:10 for tough interior and 1:4 for outside trims ok? and in all cases, once you work the cleaner either via old toothbrush or MF cloth, always remove it ASAP. Its main purpose would be to remove these contaminants but im pretty sure it could dull up the rubber trims but this could be fixed by applying protectant or even better dressing. Having a clean surface allows the dressing or protectant to bond properly to the paint.
