Question lang po.. If I detail with Mother's Step 2 and 3 ngayon, Hindi po ba matatanggal yung pinadetail ko sa BB na double wax last saturday? We will be away kasi for a couple of days so I'd like to boost its protection for the meantime..

    TIA

*thx777: there is no curing time after applying Step 2, the only products that have curing times are pure waxes and sealants, for sealants its 24 hours for optimal durability and 12 hours minimum, and for waxes its 8 hours for optimal durability and 4 hours minimum, thats what most sites say, and as for polishes where step 2 falls under, there are no curing time needed, oh yeah for step 2 you might want to work the product a little longer with very very light pressure, i find this to make the most of the fillings capabilities and to burnish the paint to a high gloss, Actually Dark Blue is actually one of the easy colors to achieve a mirror finish, take a look at the Exped i detailed, thats dark blue paint, and using step 2 can really help in bringing out that crisp reflections.

*jozep: very nice, very clean paint, not a spot out of place, nice reflection for a light colored car and thats some great sheeting, the sheeting on your car is actually better i think than mine, mine still has some pools left and the 4th picture has a lot less considering thats a flat surface. great job!

*Chikselog: if you use Step 2 and 3, yes would you just end up removing the FX wax applied by BB, the step 2 contains very very mild polishes that can remove wax, if you want to boost the protection of the car, just use Step 3, im sure the paint right now is still clean from the double wax and slapping on an extra layer of carnauba would already do a great job for protection when ur gone.

Hi mga Tsikoteers! - Newbie member lang...

Sorry if I'm going to ask a repetative question, too many posts already medjo nahihilo na ko sa dami...

I just wanted to ask advice regarding taking care of my APV.

    Details:
    Suzuki APV - White
    7 months old na siya.

I read that there are some waxes, cleansers, sealants, etc etc... sorry nahilo talaga ako.. and I read na meron na dapat once a month lang kasi mauubos daw yung top coat nya.. which im afraid to use.

I just wanted that extra coating of protection for my paint.. and a good shine...

Thank you in advance sa makakatulong.

Sir yung once a month na tinutukoy nyo yun siguro yung mga waxes na may mild cleaners or mild to very mild abrasives. Usually yung mga ganitong waxes, pang-prepare lang ng surface ng paint para mag bond properly yung wax and pang remove ng light surface defects, example is the Mother's Step 1 Pre-Wax Cleaner.. Actually dapat 2-3 times a year lang dapat ginagamit ang mga ganitong waxes..

Sealants are more durable than waxes.. Read na lang po natin yung recent post ni madkatz about that

Waxes. Eto it can be used once a month. It is safe for the paint, just follow the correct applying procedure. Minsan kasi we tend to put pressure on the paint therefore narereduce ang clearcoat pero very minimal lang naman. Waxing once a month is already a very good practice dahil may protection ang paint natin from the heat of the sun..

Kapag rainy season naman, if you have time, it is best to wax your car at least once a week..

Pre-wax cleaner will remove the dirt from your paint (oxidized paint, road film, etc.). This will make it easier for the wax to bond with your paint. Note that pre-wax cleaners do not have wax.

Cleaner-wax is a combination of pre-wax cleaner and wax.

actually hindi po talaga sya white, opal color sya.
I also prefer light colored cars kse hindi masyado halata yun mga minor scratches, pero you'd more appreciate the shine of your car pag dark colored like yun kay sir jmpet626 & Starex_Gold.

Sa ganda kasi ng white color napapaisip talaga ako. Gusto ko kasi helios yellow ng jazz pero napapaisip ako sa tafetta white.

Gusto ko rin kasi sa white bumabanda yung sinag ng araw so hindi mainit.

*daney_waney: you could get the PC 7424 but not the new XP model at mothers distributor, for 15k, honestly you could get it cheaper buying it from the US, my friend just sold his brand new 7424xp for 10k with a few pads just because he wanted a better model so he bought a flex 3401 instead, you could probably look around and ask some enthusiasts that might sell them, but the only problem with PC7424 would be that they're 110v and they don't come with warranty although these things last you a really really long time.

    *olidotcom:

Cleaner Waxes - are basically waxes with polishes, this type of wax is one of the basic waxes someone needs to maintain a great finish, equally important compared to pure waxes and sealants, it contains mild polishes which are mainly used for removing oxidized paint and old wax build ups, the mild polishes can remove very very light scratches and swirls, and for the deeper ones it can remove the dirts and grime stuck in between, its also recommended for cars 2 to 3 years older to restore the clarity and make the metallics pop, its advisable to use cleaner waxes at regular intervals or quarterly to maintain a clean finish and to make sure the new layer of wax bonds directly to the paint

    Mothers Carnauba Cleaner Wax
    Deep Crystal Cleaner Wax
    TW Carnauba Cleaner Wax

Pure Waxes - as the term says is made of natural pure waxes, carnauba being the most popular, bees wax and bavarian montan and etc, these waxes doesn't contain any polishes that might abrade or reduce the clear coat, these type of waxes provide the best protection against water related damages, this type of wax is best recommended for brand new cars since the finish is still in great condition

    Collinite 845
    Collinite 915
    Mothers Step 3
    Megs Step 3
    TW Platinum Ultra Gloss
    Megs Gold Class

Cleaner Sealants - is basically like cleaner waxes but instead of leaving a layer of wax they leave a layer of super durable synthetic polymers, cleaner sealants are best known for their ease of use and it best when topped with a pure sealant after for maximum bonding capability

    Carlack Nano Systematic Care

Pure Sealants - are super durable synthetic polymers that bond to the paint, they provide a little less protection as compared to carnauba waxes in terms of water related problems but outlast and out protect carnauba waxes in terms of other protection like against chemicals, detergents, salt, bugs, bird droppings and a whole lot more, sealants are very easy to apply and in most cases easy to remove, they require 24 hours cure time to properly dry without causing any hazing problems, pure sealants are also most recommended for brand new cars to lock in and maintain the depth and the mirror like shine of brand new cars

    Carlack Long Life Sealant
    Mothers FX Synwax

Hybrid - are a combination of natural waxes and sealants

    Megs NXT
    Megs Gold Class Carnauba Plus
    Mothers Reflections
    Eagle One

For the ultimate shine and protection try Carlack Long Life Sealant topped with Collinite 915

Hope this helps, sorry for the late reply, was prepping up for MIAS
