Wonder how long the trend cycle is. All the dechroming I've done are unsanded & reversible. Mostly vinyl. I don't mind the chrome on classics. They have to be period/model-correct.[emoji4]

Not necessarily sir Bloo, when I visited my brother in Winnipeg 2 years ago I saw quite a few cars with chrome bling-blings so maybe it's not exclusive to Asians. Then again, it could be possible that the owners of the cars where of our race as well. LoL.

The flat black accessories I don't mind so much, but those faux carbon fiber ones make me shake my head and smile wryly. Why try to claim it for something that it obviously is not, I wonder? Self-deception or just a lack of reliable information?

You are probably right. Americans & North Americans like a lot of bling on their cars too.

I think it really boils down to what Dr. D mentioned, to some people it's fashionable, while for others it is not.

Kind of like when new shoes come out and all the kids want a pair except the kid who enjoys the more classic looks of the Chuck Taylors or Top Siders even when they're not in fashion anymore. I still even wear a pair of old Espadrilles from Artesania once in while. They're comfy, inexpensive and age-appropriate IMHO and I don't care that they're not "In" right now.

So back to my other question, are their protective film products now that can be put on headlights to minimize or hopefully eliminate the fading/ yellowing of these plastic housings over time?

I can see it may be a difficult order given the high temperatures HL's can get.
