Thanks mga sirs sa inputs nio. At least may idea na ko ng pwede cause ng overheating

baka may kakilala kayong naghohome service na mekaniko. ayoko na sana ibyahe. Guadalupe, Makati Area

Last thing na ginawa ko for cooling system is nagchange ako ng motor ng fan ng radiator last year

Before doing anything or having anything done to it, top off with antifreeze/coolant and bleed the system

Kung nagbabawas ng tubig/coolant at walang leak, I would replace the radiator cap.

i have a nice collection of near-brand-new caps.
but everytime, the problem turned out to be "something else".

What is your reference level for the coolant fluid?

The coolant fluid container is marked F and L

If your reference is above F then its normal because F should be maximum level of the fluid. As in the proper level should be F and below for the coolant fluid, while F and above should be air

Why that should be the case? Build up in heat result in greater pressure which push that fluid level above the F mark. If you filled the the coolant container up to the brim, then that will be indeed the case, there will always be reduction in fluid level, as long as its not below L mark, then the coolant level should be ok

If you carefully inspect the coolant container, there is an overspill hole on top. That takes care of excess fluid upon pressure build up, it discharge excess coolant fluid due to pressure expansion

The best practice in filling up coolant is up to F mark level only

So, last night pinuno ko ng tubig yung expansion tank and radiator. pinaandar ko yung makina for 40mins with aircon. di naman tumaas temp. Sabi ko sa sarili ko pwede ng mabyahe to from Guadalupe to Banawe (Jorge Radiator).

The best talaga sa Tsikot!

Ang symptoms pala ng Toyota Avanza nagbabawas ng coolant, kapag medyo barado na ang radiator neto, which need to be overhauled.

i think this is the same for most other cars.

Sira na siguro cap ng radiator or worn out na upper radiator hose.

Not on my experience with our ride. I encounter overheating that is already near red mark but never runs out of coolant in a radiator even in its reservoir tank. I also end overhauling the radiator when parts like thermostat valve and switch was replaced. The overheating problem diminished when the radiator was overhauled.

Yung Overhaul na sinasabi mo ay stop leak lang. Expected naman talaga na mag le-leak ang radiator. Karamihan may leak sealer na nakahalo sa coolant yung iba naman zinc or magnessium na sacrificial anode ang gamit.

my concern over leak sealer additives... do they only and really stop leaks, or do they cause radiator blockages as well?

How much is the typical range for radiator overall?

some repairers do not repair plastic-topped radiators. "throw-away" radiators daw.
others replace (daw) the plastic tubs with brass tubs. don't know if this is true, or if the repair lasts.

i remember an overhaul quotation of 1800 bucks, but that was years ago.
surplus? we have no guarantee... that surplus radiator might just turn out to be in worse condition than yours.
surplus radiators have probably been languishing, dry, in the shop, for some time.
the corrosion-preventive properties of radiator coolant, have not been enforced on them for some time.
once installed in your car, they may just "leak like a ligadera".
brand new, to be sure. 5K or so.

errr... what's your car and radiator, po?

Had the plastic tub replaced with metal on my truck. Still ok until now, around 5 years later. Best thing to do would be to use premixed coolant to make sure corrosion doesn't start. I don't know why, but even with our best effort to get the right ratio of coolant concentrate to water, rust starts to appear a few months after.

Kung around 80-100k ang mileage mo at working ang both fan, time to overhaul radiator at palit thermostat na din( bka naka stock half open eh). Plastic radiator O/H 5-600 petot (ikaw ang magkalas) kung mayhairline crack better buy replacement 3,500 last year pag auto.
Check mo lang sir rev engine 2.5k to 3k with out radiator cap pagdahan lumalabas ang tubig mo ah same tayo ng problem Replace head gasket kna din.
