I like this thread. There is no debate.
If you are told to remove your perfectly working thermostat from
your cooling system.
Take your money and run!

Last edited by mark_t; December 8th, 2008 at 05:27 PM.

i dont use a thermostat on both of my cars for years never got any problem as long as you know how to proper warm up of your engine before using it and im from california 75% water 25% coolant summer. only pain is winter time atleast 7 to 10 mins of warm up time and change 50% water 50% antifreeze. my track toy i use 75% water 25% redline water wetter no matter what weather, i dont think when your running 9,200 rpm, track temp dont matters just keeping your motor cool is hard as it is.

Would you recomend this to just anybody?
Here in the philippines most do not use coolants. They just
use plain water and remove their thermostat to solve their overheating. Those with DIY skills would hotwire their auxillary fan to keep it on as added measure. Most will not even consider the rust build up in their
cooling system from continued use of hard water in their cooling system.
Too many barbers doing the work of mechanics, physicians
and carpenters.
Just some observations.
