Pa-update naman what happened na with your problem bro.? How was it solved...Originally Posted by NightRock
my ride is L3 4d56 engine
sofar i replaced the ff:
3 row radiator:ever cool
aux radiator fan
layed down condenser in order to give more air to the radiator
eversince it never over heats again.

just bumping an old thread...
Im planning to replace the stock radiator of my L300 with a 3 row radiator from Evercool, any idea how much does it cost nowadays?
Thanks!![]()
Andito lang pala kayo! I hope someone can help me with my problem also.. I've read all the posts here.. From page 1 till here I am posting.. I have a 97 L200 4D56 Engine.. When running on a freeway.. Ok lang temp nya.. Problem starts sa traffic.. Even if it's a short traffic tumataas! Hanggang 3/4 and still moving closer to the warning sign (red) and kasi takot ako mag overheat I usually turn off the a/c and when I get home when I check my reservoir ubos ang h20.. I have a new water pump, new head gasket, new camshaft, new rocker arm assy, overhauled my rad, rad cap is still new, valve clearance is correct, belts are new.. It doesnt have a thermostat anymore.. Havent checked on the clutch fan since I dont have any problem when running * high speed.. But the temp rises when you run uphill..
Can anyone please help me?? TIA
This normal on a dirty cooling system but please put back a thermostat to
make your system complete. You would also need to use premix coolant to hopefully retard the corrosion in your system. Ang problema kasi it would be
very difficult to remove the scaling in your cooling system without the proper equipment.
The use of raw water destroys your cooling system as water is the universal solvent, in simplest terms nilulusaw ng tubig and mga bakal sa makina mo. And your cooling system is the weakest link in the chain in your engine (napakanipis ng pyesa rito).
But the reality is maintenance is all about protocols, nakakasunod ka ba sa
requirement ng engine for a trouble free operation.
Your situation now is how you can control the corrosion in your cooling system.
Better if you act now. Buy a premix radiator coolant and drain your cooling system, clean what ever that you can clean like the hoses to the reservoir, reservoir etc. What is
important is try to stop the corrosion now. Kailangan matanggal mo na ang raw water as soon as possible kasi wala itong anti corrosion properties. After let us say 10,000kms of using this coolant palit ka uli coolant then that will be good for another 40,000kms. You Dont need to overhaul that now just do what is necessary. Maybe 1000pesos will do the job kasama na thermostat. Kung kailangan mo magdagdag ng tubig use absolute, wilkins or other distilled
bottled water.

Ok.. I'll have my rad overhauled this week na.. Thermostat and H2O reservoir next week cguro since I still have to order sa El Dorado and + shipping pa dito sa Cebu..
Na check na ng cousin ko L200 ko and he told me to change the rad cap since wala na pala check valve nito kaya bumabalik ang h20 sa reservoir.. Sana ok na after nito..
Same here i bought surplus 4D56 turbo engine (45k) installed to my Besta 98 body coz its stock 2.2 engine blown down. Upon replacing temp is rising up, remedy I did was to replace & oversize the radiator with big one. Alas! overheating solved.
Until now it's running cool! That was 4 yrs ago imagine that!
mga sir.
experience ko lang sa engine ng 4d56 is that the main culprit pag tumataas ang temp nya ay yung CYLINDER HEAD nya ay "NABIBINGKONG"(nag wawarp?) thru time.dont know why?
Meaning kelangan nyu pong pa machine shop "REFACE" yung cylinder head nya.
F.Y.I own fb L300 L200 lahat po cla nagmanifest ng ganun symptoms.
WArping of cylinder head is the cause of thermal fatigue of the engine metal. How? when the engine overheat, the driver immediately pour water into the radiator. Furthermore,
cylinder heard warping is due to not observing the proper torque and torque sequence of the cylinder head. When the engine overheat, wait for sometime for the engine to cool down before pouring water to the radiator. Or pour hot water into the radiator, not cold or water directly from the faucet. Pa rin tao, magpagod ka 1/2 day then immediately take a bath, what would happen to? what would U feel. Ganoon din po engine. Thats what we call thermal stress of the engine metal kya nagwarp.
Please check the radiator fan blades. A radiator fan blades that is made of PLASTIC has a tendency to straighten and have no power to extract heat from the radiator specially at high speed. that why your water temp rises up during high speed.
