A somewhat reinforcing review from AutoIndustriya, although I wonder with all the pros and praises he sang about the car, and the little to no cons (only mentioning about the subdued looks), the overall score is only pegged to 8/10, similar to most of the cars reviewed there.

Yep, easily a 9. The built and platform coupled with the turbo diesel engine is already an ace compared to its Asian competitors.

How do you access the MFD setting?

Tried several button combinations in the right steering wheel buttons. It seems it's disabled.

i just got my Jetta 2.0 tdi be+ last 2/7. di ko pa mailabas kasi wala pang or/cr so naka park lang muna.
anyway i just want to confirm from what i got from the jetta club philippines in fb. i asked if there is no power side mirror yung model na nakuha considering it's the high end ng jetta line sa philippines and they said no - it is not powered side mirror meaning you cant fold it via a push button. but i searched in you tube and saw several videos showing it is powered.

    thanks sa mga sasagot.

Our Jetta has the power folding mirror and the switch for it is found on the knob controlling the mirrors. You just need to put in the fold position.

That's bad. However, for its price, the Jetta is fully loaded compared to other compacts. The 2.0L TDI engine alone is more than worth it. I wish our Jetta came with the 2.0L TDI engine. The 1.6L TDI is adequate but it is not as responsive as the 2.0L TDI.

Can you please show a photo/screenshot of the switch found on the knob? TIA.

I can't seem to attach pics straight to the thread. On the power side mirror switch, There are 5 positions - left (L), center (0), right (R), defogger, and fold.

Will installing after market parking sensors and horn void VW warranty? Planning to have them installed soon. Thanks

Void yung warranty, only for the electricals they can prove was damaged due to you installing the horn and parking sensors.

if nothing goes wrong, then we won't claim warranty, and we won't have to find out, sir.

but if something does go wrong with the electricals, you will probably have a hell of a time, convincing (unsuccessfully, i foretell) the casa that your handiwork is not the culprit.

if you are really worried about it, then have them add-ons installed by the casa.

Thanks All. To avoid the risk of voiding the warranty, idefer ko muna yung “necessary” upgrades. 2 years lang naman warranty. Cannot afford to replace defective VW part/s from my pocket. [emoji28]

The 2017s lower variants don’t, the diverted (Ayala) units are more loaded but with a different engine and transmission. I think best value for money.

The 2016 Ayala units came with a 1.6L TDI engine (105hp/250Nm) instead of the 2.0L TDI (150hp/320Nm). I think both engine models have the same DSG tranny. However, only the Highline models came with the wrap-around parking sensors and leather seats.

^^^ Locally, only the Audi A4 2.0L TDI has the 190hp tune for VW's 2.0L TDI engine.
