Wala ba franchise mga Uber and grab? AFAIK naayos na nila yan kaya hinde na sila illegal. In fact pwede na sila sa airport.
Ibang category sila compare sa regular taxi or PUV
You have a choice kung ano gusto mo Saiyan wala naman pumipilit magbayad ka ng surge pricing kung ayaw mo
That's the beauty of it. Commuters have choices.
If you wanna play you gotta pay.

Yup allowed na grab sa airport.
No more running for cabs, you won sa agawan tapos in the end tatanggihan ka lang pag hindi kayo nagkasundo sa presyo.
Iba naman scenario pag jeeps/bus and UV.
Haba ng listaha. If ilista pa lahat.
You are paying more for convenience.
Kung ayaw mo huwag mo.

Minsan naman talo din sila.
One time a colleague asked me to book her a grabcar. Capitol commons to Maginhawa QC. That was around 3pm
Grab charge her 170 pesos.
1 hour after nakarating yung grabe (brand new 11th gen Altis BTW)
Sabi ko nga never pa ako nakasakay ng compact car for grab /uber Kainggit hehe sulit 170 niya kako
Tapos from Capitol Commons to metrowalk almost 2hrs inabot!

I thought tipping was not practiced in Uber? How much do you usually tip?

Some would decline but they will accept if you insist. It is just a reward for bringing you to your destination safely. The amount varies depending on the distance and traffic. So far the smallest I offered was P50 and highest at P100.

Mag uber kami dapat. Yung original plan ng ertiga namin is for uber. Dapat vios yun kaso nagdadalawang isip kami pag hindi kumita masasayang lang yung vios. We already have an ek and jazz. Hehe.
Kung pahirapan talaga sa sakay i will use uber. Pero pag ok naman regular taxi. One time pupunta ako from mckinley hill to net plaza, estimated fair ng uber 150 kasi may surge. Thats at around 930pm. Nag taxi ako 75 lang. Hehe. Hehe

i posted this on ubermanilatips yesterday why was it deleted –
TFSPH (Toyota Financial Services PH) makes you sign an Affidavit of Undertaking for Non public use.
Then UBER makes you sign a document allowing them to request from TFSPH on your behalf a Letter of Conformity. Which makes it malabo for them to issue since you signed an affidavit in the first place.
I was told by the agent that TFSPH has a different price for loans meant for uber. (higher dp, monthly and insurance)
Kindly enlighten . Because from the way I look at it – they look at it, they just released this news for the benefit of TFS and UBER to lure people into getting a car..
LTFRB allows TNVS Accreditation for leased vehicles in Uber - Uber MNL Tips
thus the reason for deleting my comment..
Trying out uberHOP right now. I'm presently sharing an UberX with a random stranger. It's like a really long elevator ride - quite awkward actually.
But it's significantly cheaper and doesn't seem to have surge rates.

^^hehe nakakatawa pala ung experience mo sir. awkward moments talaga yan lalo kung parehas mahiyain.
I can see the point of having Surge pricing din. In a way pabor din sya sa customer, not all the time, pero there will be times na kelangan rin sya.
If marami kayong gusto mag uber from a certain location, and ung isang customer needs to go somewhere urgently, or can afford sya, you can count na he/she is or might be willing to pay more para maka una. While the others, mag titiis na mag pababa ng pricing or mag regular PUV nalang. If walang surge, then wala masyado incentive ung said "urgent" customer mag uber, and wala rin incentive ung uber drivers na bumyahe pag trapik or baha/bagyo, knowing full well ung risks and costs ng trapik at bagyo.
Haha

Uber driver charged with rape
More
A 22-year-old woman was allegedly raped by an Uber driver in his vehicle in Quezon City on Wednesday afternoon, police said yesterday.
The suspect, identified only as Xstian Karlou John Marie, picked up the woman at Camp Crame and was supposed to bring her to Katipunan Avenue, said Police Officer 2 Charito Desmaya, case investigator.
Marie reportedly embraced the woman, forced her to hold his genitals, then pulled her hair and forced her to perform oral *** on him until she escaped, Desmaya said.
The rape allegedly happened while the vehicle, with license plate number ARA-3101, was along Katipunan Avenue at around 2:30 p.m., Desmaya said.
LTFRB mulls revoking franchise
Meanwhile, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) wants Uber to explain why its franchise should not be cancelled after one of its drivers allegedly raped a passenger.
LTFRB member Ariel Inton said the agency will order Marie to attend a hearing next week.
Inton said that they are now conducting an investigation to determine the whereabouts of the driver, who is at large.
Uber, in a statement issued yesterday, said the driver has been removed from its platform.
No additional details on the driver’s identity was released but the firm assured the public it will cooperate with law enforcement agencies.
