Regarding the news that UBER and Grabcar has been issued a 20 day TRO by a QC RTC...

Just spoke to UBER. To clear things up a bit, the QC court is only issuing a TRO on processing new and pending applications. Not stopping their entire operations as stated in several news agency articles. The TRO is for “accepting, processing, and approving of applications belonging to TNVS category…for a period of 20 days effective from date of receipt." But there are 7 more pages that need to be interpreted so I'll post more when I have more. Let's cross our fingers it is not the entire operations.

They were distributing flyers kanina. I'm not so excited about the idea of sharing a car with strangers though. A car is a very confined space.

Uber Launches Carpool Service UberHOP for Php 75.00

By Marita Galvez on January 26, 2016

Uber Philippines has finally launched the recently talked about UberHOP, a carpool schemed service that lets passengers ride together when heading to a similar route or location. They want to battle the on going traffic problem in Manila so they came up with this ride-sharing feat.

For their pilot test for this service, it is available for those travelling in Makati or BGC area for now as they are testing it. For an introductory price of Php 75.00 you will be paired with a driver and other passengers that are heading to a common destination. It is only available during weekdays 6am-10am and 4pm-9pm excluding holidays. So basically, it is geared towards office workers around the city.

    How does it work?

You need to update your Uber on your phone.
Check to see if you’re in the area where UberHOP is available
    Request for a ride
Go and walk to the suggested pick up point
If you are late, you will miss your ride. They will not wait for you.
You may share your ride with 2-5 people depending on the size of the car
You will arrive in a common area in Makati or BGC near your destination. From there, you may walk.

What do you think of this new service from Uber?

Kaya lang sila ang maga assign pag uberhop so you can't choose the person.

Ride share ata ang tawag para sa mga magkakakilala, that was launched several months ago pa.

Agree 100% brod. Uber and Grab are 2 ways people who do not want to follow the law have managed to evade it. Ayaw nila ma-regulate. So who is going to stop them now if they decide to take it a notch further? Like evading taxes and increasing fares. And the sad thing is social media has sided with them.

Pag nakita mo naman mataas ang surge, may option ka naman to take taxis or other public transpos.

Sir ang pagkaka alam ko regulated na ang uber at grab. Categorized sila as Transport Network Vehicle Service by the LTFRB. Nagbabayad naman sila ng TAX. Kaya i don't see any problem with it. Dami may galit sa grab saka uber lalo na yung WALANG UTAK group. Kesyo nababawasan daw pasahero nila.

Actually contradicting nga ung sinabi mong "legalized colorum".
