Yup. It looks like a possible case of self immolation.

Fire on Hong Kong subway breaks out injuring at least 13 | Daily Mail Online

Nothing to do with this but it makes me remember the acid attacks a long time ago.

Will be back by December. Missed the Ngong Ping cable car the first time.

Visited the Big Buddha, Peak, Disneyland, Ocean Park, Time Square, Macau last time.

Any new places to visit this time? TIA

Parang wala pa rin. Last time I was there I used yung Airport Express Travel Pass na may 3 days unlimited MTR use. The MTR goes almost everywhere naman.

Yung HK tour buses, may mandatory shopping stop sa... uhm, "accredited" store nila kaya sayang oras dun.

Just got back from a week's vacation in Hong Kong. Overall, we had fun, my kid enjoyed Disneyland, my wife and mother enjoyed shopping and I enjoyed the food. One thing stood out though, the rudeness of the natives, especially in the service industry (waiters, cashiers, bus drivers, airport information). I spent a lot of time in Japan where "customers are gods". But in HK, paglabas pa lang ng airport, yung bus driver masungit na sinabihan yung isang turista: hey you! tap the card again! Then sa restaurant naman, the server brusquely shooing away the gift box I brought for my friend to make space for the food. Even the cashier at the Disneylnd foodcourt was rather rude. Also it seems there are few public toilets even in the MTR stations. I guess I had the wrong impression from my experiences in East Asian countries like Japan, Korea and Taiwan and expected the same in HK. Mas natuwa pa ako sa Mong Kok, mas mababait pa yung mga stall-owners dun.

Ako naman sa Taiwan ko na-experience yung rude ang bus/taxi drivers, though mabait naman yung mga locals nila.
I think expected ang Hongkong to have those kind of behavior/attitude since mixed ang race at mas malapit sila sa mainland.

Never going back to Hong Kong unless maybe it’s work related. Japan, I can go back anytime.

My first trip out of the country was HK and I experienced what you're talking about so it was kind of disappointing.

I have a friend though who visits HK at least twice a year. Gustong gusto niya ang HK despite of the locals' indifference to tourist.

We recently did this, on a group tour visa. No problem naman. 1-day tour of Shenzhen. we just took the train to the border, then passed China immigration after crossing this bridge. Again this was on a group tour visa.

Hi. Just want to ask if there is anybody here that is currently working in HK? Thank you.

Anybody up for a cheap vacation?

Hong Kong hoteliers issue SOS as plunging rates reach US$9 a night and occupancy hits 2 per cent amid protests | South China Morning Post

At a new low of HK$71 (US$9.06) a night, some hotels are now cheaper than subdivided flats in the city. Winland 800 Hotel in protest-hit Tsing Yi, is offering that rate on weekdays through the Wing On Travel website. It represents a decline of 65.7 per cent from its lowest rate of HK$207 a night in March 2018.

Friend said the city is like it's on holiday nowadays sa kunti ng tourist sa daan. At this rate, maraming small stores will start disappearing. Especially sa sneaker street sa Mongkok. Hope yung mga Suki stores will still be around.
