September 8th, 2007 05:01 AM #1Hey Guys! I need your comments / advice.
When I was on my way to work, I happen to pass by EDSA / Estrella. It was raining then and on that area is flooded above-ankle deep. Then, my car began to loose power and it came to a stop. After about 3 mins., I cranked the car and it started, but once I press the accelerator pedal, it stops. I managed to get the car on the side. Waited for 5 mins, then car starts. What I did was put the tranny in the "2", and the car slowly creeped out of the area. What do you guys think what went wrong?
I appreciate your comments & suggestions.

the water might crept in yout a/t.. have it totally fushe, including the ATF in the Torque converter..

September 8th, 2007 08:50 AM #5BlueBimmer, pwede na siguro yung Petron ATF, or Castrol ATF?

I doubt if ankle deep water can reach your auto tranny. Baka mabilis takbo mo then nag splash yun water sa engine bay mo. Nabasa yun mga sensors kaya di mag start. After a few minutes nag dry na siya because of the heat ng engine.

8 liters, and remember-->its not the brand that is first priority when buying ATF: its the spec: DEXRON, DEXRON2/3, MERCON, C4, etc--iit is also stated in the ATF faqs thread na naka pinned dito sa workshop..

ususally nga po 5-6 liters po lahat lahat, 1/2 of the atf is in the oil pan, the other half is on the torque converter(TC)...
search mo a/t threads na nireplyan ko, halos lahat dun nasabi ko na panu palitan ang nasa TC nang di na kailangan ng machine/DIY way...
