February 27th, 2008 02:05 PM #25same problem here, at pareho din tayo ng ginagawa para umandar yung oto (shift up and down yung gear then start again). nitong monday lang pinacheck ko na yung starter ko, para ngang walang diperensiya nung tinest yung starter, pero nung inobserbahang mabuti mahina na daw palo nung solanoid niya. nilinis lang yung solanoid, ngayun ok na pag start.

yan din ang problema ko dun sa dating 94 corolla gli a/t ko. pag sa umaga one click lang, pero once mainit na makina o after a trip pag pinatay ko makina then start again ayaw na.not even a single crank. kailangan ko pa hintayin a few minutes para mapa start uli. dati ginagalaw ko yung shifter from park to drive pabalik balik and it helps, pero katagalan hindi narin effective strategy ito. Napansin ko rin na parating pumuputok ang fuse niya. Hindi ko na nalaman papano naging resulta kasi binenta ko na yung sasakyan (nangyari pala ito after malubog sa baha yung kotse).hanggang wheel hubs kasi yung baha

in one case the engine wont crank...
I also asked about this in another forum (clubopelph.com)
shift cable (shift bar) or gear selector...
what happens is even though you put the gear in P or N (P in my case), it could not sense that it is in P... shifting to N ok naman...
the car is an opel astra AT... dont know if it is applicable to your car... check if there is some mechanism that checks the gear position on starting as mentioned by other poster...
