Hello mga paps. i just got back from the shop. The bargain i got was i got to pay for the 12ltrs ATF and the labor for free. They used a transmission fluid changer machine. The name of the shop is Real LubeMan in Tiongko Ave. Davao City. Thank you so much for all your inputs. It was really a big help.

It still shifts smoothly when im already moving. Honda Civic 1996 LXi nga pala unit ko. Tnx!

Guys, problem is.. yung shifter nawalan ng lock.. napakadaling galawin nung kambyo.. Honda CRV 2004 AT. Mahirap daw makakuha nung shifter.. Anybody who can give me idea what to do?

This may sound stupid but please bear with me. Are you using sufficient coolant in your radiator? When was the last time you changed it?

curious ako dito sir, since wala akong masyadong alam sa sasakyan. can you tell us po yung relation ng coolant sa radiator against sa transmission? innocent question po ito, di po sarcastic. gusto ko pong matuto.

Just to add in this query, it is not specifically the coolant that affects the AT, but the performance of the whole cooling system itself. Remember that the transmission (AT) sends fluid to the radiator to be cooled, if the cooling system is not efficient or frequently experience overheat, then your transmission will also overheat. This I say will damage or shorten the life of your AT.

^ That is correct. The inverse is also correct. Coolant (not water), together with pressure, raises the boiling temperature of the coolant/water mixture in the radiator. But coolant is also poorer at holding heat. Water by far has better heat holding ability. Running straight water will actually make your engine run cooler. But you don't want to do that because adding coolant increases boiling point, prevents freezing, and has corrosion inhibitors to protect aluminum and other engine parts (i.e. pump, gaskets, hoses). Water will straight out eat into aluminum and rust out the iron in the engine.

During early morning startup, the coolant mixture actually helps the car warm up faster and helps get the ATF flowing to its operating temperature around the cavities, passages and solenoids of the AT housing. Shifting immediately before the ATF is warm can usually lead to shift delay, shift shock and/or harsh shifting, particularly with older vehicles.

Makiki ride lang po dito since I am encountering the same issue. Tuwing umaga hirap mag shift sa second gear ang car ko, rev is reaching 3.1 to 3.3 before sya mag switch ng gear but after this, ok naman na. Also, tuwing umaga, matagal din bago mag engage yung reverse gear. Ano po ba magandang gawin dito, my car is a Honda Civic 96 VTi model.

    Thanks in advance...

Mga sirs I need your help/advise!

Recently, yung Honda Jazz ('05) AT ko is having a rattle when in low gears plus may noise sya when in gear and accelerating. So I decided to bring it on my company's accredited repair shop. First recommendation nila is to replace the Flywheel. I proceeded kasi dati pang recommendation ng Honda yun kaso lumalabas lang sya dati when I'm in reverse.

After nilang mapalitan, naobserve ko na wala na yung rattle, however nandun parin yung noise. They have checked the wheel bearing pero nakita nila na in good condition pa, so they have assumed na sa transmission na ang problem. Unfortunately hindi nila kaya mag overhaul ng transmission so I need to find a new shop na mura and reliable.

Note: Wala akong napapansin na changes sa performance except for that noise when I'm driving. Nakaka worry lang kasi maingay sya...

I hope you can help me sirs
