sensya na, makisingit na nga po ako dito... Had an ATF fluid change last week sa Caltex lang. napansin ko kanina, may tagas dun sa may turnilyo sa mismong oil drain.. tried ko higpitan but mahigpit naman.. papalitan na ba yung turnilyo or gasket lang.. pag pinalitan yun, eh di matatapon din lahat yung bagong ATF na nilagay..

i've tried baltak motors in banawe. they do home service and give 3 to 4 months warranty on overhaul or surplus replacement. they're reasonable and honest. highly recommended! never go to lucas transmission in bicutan! i've tried them too! they use surplus parts and pass it on as brand new. they also over charge! he should be called lucas manloloko!
I know that this is a pretty old thread already. But as I was lurking through, I noticed the name of "Baltak" mentioned here.
A few days ago, I went to "Baltak" to ask how much they charge for fixing a Toyota Lucida Estima's automatic transmission. My Toyota Lucida was bought from Cagayan which was directly imported from Japan. It has been serving me well for the past two years, but was showing signs of wear recently.
After I bought it to Sir Diesel Dude's Central Diesel for diagnosis because of a black smoke, he noticed a transmission problem. The tranny doesn't upshift anymore. That's why I was getting low torque from the engine. He asked me to get it checked by a reliable transmission specialist.
As I asked around for a mechanic who fixes automatic transmission, I came to be directed to a shop named "Baltak". They are an auto parts shop located in Kitanlad St. near Banawe, QC. I asked from one of the mechanics there how much would the job cost approximately. He told me that if it is just an electrical problem, I could be spending around P7,000. But if it has to be replaced with a surplus transmission, they would charge me P18,000 including labor.
I want to ask anyone's help here to please help me decide whether I should go with it or look for another repair shop. Is the P7,000 or the P18,000 too much for such repair? Am I being duped or is it the normal pricing for this?
Another thing that I am confused about is the thing that he mentioned about electrical system failure. What seems to be the connection of the transmission to its electrical system? My battery gets drained easily and I see some blinking lights from the dashboard (oil level, radiator light and the engine light) I checked the oil but the level is normal according to the dipstick. I also checked the radiator and there is enough fluid in it. The cause of the engine light is something that I don't know how to check. I presumed that it is just a cause of "grounded" dashboard lights. Which appears to be wrong.
Please help me decide before I spend a fortune for the repair. Thank you very much Sirs.![]()
A/Ts have solenoids (electromechanical device) in them that control fluid flow to engage certain gears or clutch packs. Needless to say, if there's a problem with the powertrain control module (PCM-the computer that controls the A/T), or if the solenoid(s) themselves are defective (ie. stuck, clogged, open/shorted, etc.), the A/T will not be able to cycle through all the gears at best, or not propel the car at worst.
About the warning lights, don't ignore them and just discount them as instrumentation problem. Have it checked immediately using a diagnostic computer to tell you or the mechanic exactly what's wrong with your car.

Sa A.M. Bulaong try nyo mag inquire. They're located in #34 Kaliraya St. Banawe and look for Leonard Bulaong.
