Hi Guys, I owned fortuner 2009 black 2.7 gas mga 6 months ago na, ung suspension same pa din daw dati pinalitan lng nila nga malaking gulong para daw ma compensate ung tagtag, pero medyo matagtag nga , pero over all performance ng car ko wala akong masabi from interior to exterior pati sa engine performance ok talaga.
Me, i owned 2009 black Fortuner 4x4 V. 6 months na din kasi i've got it last Dec08. I would say di naman siya matagtag na as in kakalog ka. Kung baga calculated yung tagtag niya as in you will feel safe pa nga. Katunayan ay i can sleep even my wife is driving it. Tama ang pagbili ko sa aking FORTUNER.![]()

Wala namang hard start or choking problem yung 3.0 na D4D?
Can anyone enlighten us on what is so special about the Borg-Warner All Time 4x4 system that is being used in the Fortuner 4x4 V? Bakit kaya sa 2009 Car Guide ng C' Magazine, they recomment the 4x4 V model?![]()
thanks guys for sharing your experiences with the new fortuner 2009. yeah i agree matagal nga ang waiting time, kasi kami hanggang ngayon nakapila pa rin para sa 4x4 V.
im also bothered by the choking probs and D4D probs, may nakaexperience na ba nito sa fort 2009? i heard na mejo chambahan kasi yun since factory defects daw sya? like 1:15 ratio?
As what I've read in the D-4d problems thread, mukhang halos lahat ng problems ay nangyayari lang dun sa 2.5L engine.
Mukhang marami pa rin ang bumibili despite its shortcomings (such as the "matagtag" ride and D4D engine issues).

How many weeks na kayo waiting for the 4x4 V variant? Kami mag 3 weeks na waiting for the 2.7 VVTi variant na Lithium.
Kasi priority ng Toyota-Phils is to promo the locally aseembled vehicles like Vios and Innova.

I own 2009 Fortuner 2.7VVTi facelifted, re tagtag: medyo matagtag pag sa 3rd row ka (according to my son), but in front di naman I usually drive it alone.
I hear some kalampag at the front driver side, then I figured out it's the brake pedal, because I installed pedal pad medyo mabigat kaya nag ba-bounce when I hit dip potholes. (share ko lang).
Re: performance - excelent... I hit 180kPH at SCTEX very stable just like you're only running 120kPH![]()

same story last March 2009 we went to subic (SCLEX) with my wife and daughter speed ko 180kph parang wala lng then tinignan ko ung RPM ko pwede pa dagdagan,,kaso nkakatakot hehehe,, ok naman ung 2009 fort suspension sa city driving kc na nsabibi ko na medyo matagtag nung pumunta ako ng mindoro San Jose via roro grabe kasi daan dun almost 80% ng byahe ko start ng mindoro ay rough road na...
Question lang to Fortuner owners. Yung Variable Nozzle Turbo ba na nakakabit sa 3.0 D-4D nyo is equivalent to the VGT tech na rin? I did some googling and found out they were synonymous pati dun sa isa pang name niya na Variable Turbine Geometry (binaliktad lang no?) pero kung ganun, ibigsabihin ang pagkatune lang ng Toyota sa engine nito ang result kung bakit mababa ang hp and torque ratings compared to Hyundai CRDI tech? Napaisip lang kasi ako na yung mga bagong engine release nila, ang gagawin lang eh itutune yung makina para mas malakas to compete with the newer engines of other brands.
for me, matagtag pa din 09 fortuner...siguro i came from 01 isuzu trooper kaya malayo difference...ilang percent ba ang difference ng tagtag sa montero sport?? natetempt na ksi ako ibenta para ipalit sa montero sport...pls enlighten me...
Thanks and more power to tsikot.com

Mag test drive ka na lang ng Fortuner and ng MS and idaan mo sa mga lubak para makita mo yung difference. You may also want to check various forums under Mitsubishi cars kasi meron mga concerns about the MS na nakasulat doon.
sorry guys medyo naconfuse ko kayo i already owned a fortuner new look and ang layo ng ride nya sa dati kong car na 01 trooper...im thinkin of selling it na sana to replace it with montero sport...tama c auto_fanatic i really need to test drive the ms myself...ang ayaw ko lang talaga sa fortuner is yung ride nya masyado syang matalbog...ang MS ganun din b?
Hi, Triggerman.
The Fortuner's architecture is truck-based and so, it is expected na matagtag sya. The MS is truck-based as well - although the ride may be softer than the Fort, still baka di pa din as good as your former Trooper. It will be a good idea for you to do a test-drive muna.
You may want to try the Hyundai Santa-Fe. I understand that it's design is car-based kaya baka comparable sya sa Trooper mo.
As for your Fort - check you tire pressure and try 28 for all tires - observe if there is a difference.
Good luck!
I also owned facelifted fort matagtag nga pero di naman gaano, I've been to sagada via banawe, the road was teribble pero di naman kami nahilo including my family seated in first and second row, except yung maid ko na nasa 3rd row medyo nahilo, I dont know kung di sanay sa zigzag.
I dont advice you to sell it now malaki depreciation nyan 20 - 25% off, para kang nagtapon ng 300k then ipapalit mo sa ms, mababa resale value because of mitsubishi badge.
Sit in the 3rd row let the agent drive and feel for yourself the tagtag.
-----------------------------------------
