unless that's K&N di pwede hugasan yan. air intake filters are made of paper. washing it will detroy the paper fibers which would translate to poor filtering efficiency.

I already ordered my K&N drop in filter for the 1.8 engine. mahal na talaga ngayon. before sa CR-V ko yung drop in filter was around 2.5k. now drop in filters would cost around 4k.

One more thing about the airfilter box found on 1.8 engines... it turns out our air filters aren't the same with those used in the Altis. I asked Auto_xer from fusion R and he said the L-shaped airfilter box used for the 1.8 engine was taken from the Lexus IS200. ayus may part lexus na yung oto natin hehe :D

I ordered mine mukhang matagal pa darating.

another option would be an open type cone filter. mahal yung quote sa akin for a custom pipe and K&N cone filter at 7k.

I think the tube they will be using will be sourced from a simota air filter tube that would be cut to fit the rav4 engine bay. Ok rin yung simota tube since it has a provision for the MAP sensor. mahal nga lang para sa akin yung 7k na quote ni Auto_xer and besides the stock airbox setup works for me and the mileage I'm getting.

I'm not sure if an open type confilter would affect the mileage either better or worse or it may have an effect on the torque. mahina pa naman torque feel ng rav 1.8. reminds me of my EK before na high rev yung engine.

Brake pads only. saka pag kinabit yung pads no neeed to attach the stock brake shims on the tanabe pads. (that metal plate covering the stock pads)
you can PM or email Auto_xer regarding the tanabe pads. he is a respected member here at tsikot and in different car forums or you can visit the shop where he is affiliated (Fusion R at Erodriguez)

Sor far when the brakes are cold i hear a faint squeak. the same thing i experienced in my CR-V before when I had EBC redstuff brakes. after using the brakes for a few meters (when the brakes heat up) the brake squeak disappears. I read somewhere in R4W of Rav4OZ yata yun na this squeaking when cold is common with performance pads which are able to handle higher brake temperatures.

tagal din ng lifespan ng airfilter. parang ngayon pa lang ako nagpalit as far I remember. 72000km na ang odometer reading ko.
ilang kms ba interval to change air filters? yung sa Honda where i'm famillar with usually around 20t km or even 40t km.

Hirap kase sa toyota manual la na yung chart kung ano papalitan na parts at specified intervals (i.e. sparkplugs, air filter, brake fluid etc..) . Yung AE92 ko yata meron dati nun pero yung sa rav4 wala.

btw meron toyota parts shop at banawe in front of children's hospital (shop name was NGK yata yun) meron sila filters for rav4 both for 2.0 and 1.8 for Php900

speaking of filters.. yung cabin filters nyo pinalitan nyo na ba? silipin nyo behind the glove box kung gaano na kadumi hehe. kung mahal yung intake filter at 1k mas matindi yung cabin filter at 3k!!!

eto ginawa ko cheaper solution. I bought a 3M filtrete yung ginagamit sa Aircon na pambahay. I cut it to size using 2 layers and taped it with duct tape at the sides. ayun cheaper cabin filter for only Php220 hehe..

after 3 months of using the 3M filtrete:

marumi nga tignan pero mas marumi pa dyan yung OEM cabin filter ko used for 2yrs :D (sorry for the poor pic quality from my PDA)

I decided to change my cabin filter again. I went to ACE hardware to get a new one when i chanced upon this one:

mas mura pa and mas malaki yung sheet at Php54.75 hehe

after cutting it to size using 2 layers and sealing the sides with duct tape... here's the finished product:

Oks pa naman yung sa amin, last I checked. Been vacuuming it kasi muna. Pero nice solutions. Kung palitin na rin yung amin, will try rin these 3M/Airfil options.

oo nga pala... zeagle is saying that that Denso Makati, Alaban & Caloocan has a cleaning promo for our Rav4.

P3000 for cleaning includes supplies, drier and labor. P5700 for general service including expansion valve, drier, supplies and labor. Cleaning is bring down evaporator and general service is complete pull down of aircon system.
