Noted po sa mga insights and advised.
Newbie lang po ako when it comes sa Innova ,actually got mine 2nd hand kaya dami ko naiisip at mga tanong.
Been backreading at mukhang matagal ko pa mabasa lahat haha.
Thank you
my 2005 innova (first shipment!) came with no aircon filter housing opening, and thus no filter inside.
the banawe boys cut into the plastic aircon housing at the area where subsequent models will have their aircon filter access port. i simply inserted the aircon filter thru this created opening, then closed the opening.
my later innovae already came with aircon filter port and aircon filter inside.
if these cars had access ports... either there were no filters inside from the start, or somebody purloined said filters before they reached the buyer... i really do not know.
but i find it strange, that the owner's manual mentions said filter, even as the car had none installed.
my personal theory, the car came complete as complete can be. then somebody purloined a part from the car, before it reached the buyer. and that aircon filter is something that no buyer will check, when he gets delivery of the car.
now that you mention it,
do some brand new cars reach their owners, already without basic repair tools like wretches, jack and screwing drivers, and even spare tyre? some sellers kasi, specifically mention these items, as if they were an accessory that they were including as part of their generosity...

My advised if magpapabaklas, aside from having it done at recommended AC shops, make sure din na pulida gawa nila pag ibalik na binabaklas na items.
May mga AC shops kasi na magaling sa AC system, but if ibalik na ibang parts, hindi maibalik ng maayos.
In my experience, the auto door lock didn't worked anymore.
Gear selector hindi na mag lock and can right away be shifted from P to RND w/o pressing the lock button.
Pinakaworse talaga is yung auto door lock.
They called an outside technician pa to fix the issue because no one from their team is well versed sa door lock system ng car.
i blame the multi-pin connectors.
and my recommendation, is to inspect and clean them one by one. use contact cleaner, siguro.
then re-connect them securely, as in, reconnect with conviction and not as if one were in a hurry for lunchtime. the smaller the intended metal-to-metal contact in the connector, the larger the chances of not actually making contact.
and don't forget the connectors to the instrument cluster.
one can do the cleaning oneself, whilst the aircon guys are doing their thing with the heavy stuff.
the gear selector malfunction happened to my non-innova.
they forgot to re-connect the concerned connector. buti na lang, the connectors were easy to reach.
but i wonder,
what specifically did the outside technician do, to fix the auto door lock? if he knew his stuff, it would have been an easy fix.

Hello po is this a must on a 100,000 km ODO on Innova?
just watched or read this the following need to be replaced even if not broken:
Drive belt
Water pump
Automatic transmission fluid
Coolant
Radiator
please add if I miss on something.
Thank you appreciate the insights.
Hello po, new lang po me sa Car Industry
Me and my Dad purchased a 2nd hand po na toyota innova 2017 Gas Variant, may concern is normal ba sa innova that has squeaking sounds in the rear part of the car when shifting from drive to reverse or vice versa but no issue naman when driving na. I search it online and base sa research ko is load shifting siya ang probable suspects are Bushings, Rotor Disk or Brake Pad. I already replaced the Rotor Disc and brake pads so I guess bushings siya.
Without more context like when was the last time these items were serviced/replaced, it's hard to determine the next steps.
But if all you want is a quick and dirty...
For the drive belt, water pump, and radiator - If it passes a thorough inspection or if you're not seeing any sign/symptom of a problem, it's ok to continue using them.
For the coolant and ATF - Replace them if their respective colors have turned a different shade or if this is the first time they're going to be changed.
Which Innova is this? If it has a 2KD-FTV (2.5L Diesel), consider also inspecting/replacing the timing belt.
Parang maintenance ng Master Garage ito?

Since you got this 2nd hand, its a good idea to change the drive belt (its cheap anyway). Also change the timing belt (you do not want this breaking), and when you change that change the waterpump, belt tensioner pulley and the camshaft seals (iisang labor lang yan and they are all in the way anyway so might as well change it). AT and coolant is a simple flush and refill. Radiator no.
1GD has a timing chain. More often than not, they're very reliable naman and unless the engine was abused, it should last the life of the vehicle. However, it never hurts to get it, the chain guides and the tensioners inspected for slop.
Marami talagang mysteries kapag used car... talo pa Catholic church. It's a literal Pandora's box.
Anyone has ever had a white mica Innova?
Background: I have had silver cars for the better part of the last two decades due to them being relatively low-maintenance. Fast-forward to a few weeks ago, my knee-jerk reaction was to again pick silver for my next car, so I placed an order for a silver Innova G.
The problem is, it's still several days out (or weeks, nobody really knows).
What is available now is the white mica variant.
So the 1.6M question is, should I pickup the white now or just wait for the silver? Please provide your reasons and/or insights, please. Thanks!
