Good day Tsikoteers. I have Innova 2013 G D A/T with 85K odo. May recurring unusual noise galing sa dash board tapat ng passenger side. Parang tunog ng fan na may tinatamaan na lata. It usually starts when the gear is engaged and stops when the speed gets pass 40kph. Pag high speed sa highway, nawawala, pero pag bababa yung speed to less than 40kph tutunog nanaman. Pagnaka neutral or Park nawawala din.

May nakakaalam ba or nakaexperience kung ano cause nito? TIA.

With or without aircon po . Meron yung rattling sound.

Does it coincide with how much vibration the engine is making? On both the 2KD and 1GD (w/o a balance shaft), the engine vibration is most pronounced around the 1K RPM (±200 RPM) region. It smoothens out below or above that range.

If I were to guess, it's most likely the engine support(s) giving out.

If I were to guess, it's most likely the engine support(s) giving out.

It does coincide with the engine vibration .Pinag tataka ko lang is, malakas yung rattling sound inside the vehicle, Pero Pag NASA labas, halos walang rattling sounds aside sa normal sounds ng engine.

The in-cabin rattles could just be the symptom. Kung excessive masyado yung vibration (ex. due to busted engine mounts), you can make anything that didn't make a sound before, rattle.

The sounds appear Pag low speed/rpm . Nawawala Pag naka neutral/reverse, nawawala sya Pag mabilis takbo .

Try mo ito:

1. Have someone sit in the driver's seat
2. Go to the passenger side and look under the dashboard
3. Have the driver rev the engine until the sound appears
4. Localize mo kung saan nanggagaling yung rattle
5. Reach out and try to touch the different parts in there and see kung magbabago tunog or if it dampens the rattle

Sa area na yan, andyan yung A/C and computer boxes. I suspect there's a screw loose in there somewhere or may nagbabanggaan na metal parts.

What I did was I removed the glove box and yung isa Pang cover sa taas nya. Then we drive and checked if dun galing yung rattling. So far, wala don yung rattling noise.

I also notice that if pull my windows down I barely hear the rattling sound. As if there's no rattling

First thing to do is localize where it's coming from. That's the only time you can do something about it.

i kept listening to it, and nothing comes to mind...
it sounds vaguely familiar, but i can't put my finger to it... para bang something i take for granted... transmission... support?
hindi kaya... nag-upshift lang ang trans?

might i inquire,
how long have you had the vehicle?
when did the noise start?

engine support evaluation isn't incredibly difficult. bring the car to a talyer.
taga saan po kayo? maybe our listeners can recommend a shop near you.

i had earlier forgotten to re-install the cover's retaining clips.
check also the air cleaner housing's mounting bolts.

If this only started fairly recently and out of nowhere (nothing was changed, repaired, or modified in the car), check all cubby holes inside the vehicle.... center console, cup holders, door pockets, door armrest, etc. Sometimes, passengers will inadvertently stow away loose items in there like coins, hair clips, or children's toys that can rattle.

Ilocos Laoag location ko po . New discovery, Pag naka idle sya at may tao sa front meron yang rattling sounds, Pero Pag walang tao sa driver side/passenger nawawala sya. ��

About a month . Bought it sa second hand dealers samin . Then nag change engine oil, ATF ako then byinahe sa pagudpud ng pinsan ko (from Laoag). Pag balik ganyan na. Wala naman yan dati .

Its the passenger airbag. Remove it or atleast lift it put foam or double sided tape underneath. That should minimize if not eliminate the noise.

Nakakairita tunog nyan.

This is the solution of my problem . I removed my passenger airbag and the rattling noise disappear. My only question is, which part exactly should I put some foam or tape? Tia.
