i have an E variant, with casa-installed keyless.
the remote's unlock button, unlocks all four doors and the liftgate, all at the same time.
but there is no liftgate-only unlock button.

the J variant has a liftgate keyhole; the E variant does not. it was the reason i had a keyless installed in my E .. as it comes out from the factory, the only way to open the liftgate was by pressing the unlock button beside the driver! hassle kung umu-ulan o may maraming bagahe.

Speaking of the Innova's lift gate, if you have it open in the rain, will water ever get in the door through the door handle and/or plate lights?

It seems that when the door is up, the area where the plate number is attached forms a catch basin. From the looks of it, if you have it open long enough (like when loading/unloading stuff in the rain, water could collect and get in through the door handle mechanism or through some other way.

I have a G, if that makes any difference.

Another inquiry mga fellow innova owners.

Meron ako naririnig na parang vacuum sound/hydraulic na tunog from the engine bay right after ko umandar pagkatapos magstart.

Ano kaya yung tunog na yun? Is that normal? Wala naman ako mafeel na kakaiba sa hatak and brake ng sasakyan.

Any ideas mga sir? TIA!

Just read the manual again and done some internet research. ABS self check pala yun.

if you open the liftgate under heavy rain... in a few seconds, water will spill into the posterior aspect of the compartment, wetting your baggage.
hindi maganda ang design ng weatherstrip.

i guess this is the reason why i never encountered water collecting in the plate area.. sinasarhan ko agad ang liftgate dahil tinutuluan at nababasa ang bagahe..

mga sir, nag pa-change oil ako kanina and sabi ng mekaniko need daw palitan yung spark plug o-rings saka yung gasket (di ko sure saan banda) kasi nagle-leak yung langis sa palibot ng mga spark plug. Easy fix lang po ba sa mga mekaniko to? o-ring and gasket lang kaya kailangan or may iba pang pyesa na required? Thanks!

Yes dok. Hassle talaga yun esp for people na nasanay sa one press trunk open agad sa sedan. Sana someone will have the idea to hack the system para with one press bottom eh kahit pop up lang yun liftgate, itataas na lang.

I would suggest na ipa-check mo muna ang brake shoe condition sa rear wheels. Baka naupod na yung brake shoes (baka nilaspag mabuti ng gumamit, tsk) kaya nagbago ang orientation ng hand brake lever.

Ok sir i pa check ko. Kasi ang kwento sa akin ni misis, bawat stop, mag neutral at hatak ng hand break, kahit moving traffic. Basta huminto sila ganun. At mnsan habang tumatakbo at biglang preno, kasama hatak ng hand break. Matic nga pala sasakyan.

brake shoes and handbrake go hand in hand.
each affects the other.
the mechanic will charge less than 500, if i remember right.
you can do it, yourself, if you are "handy with your hands".

Yung sakin kasi (innova j 2010), may squeaking sound kahapon lang. though, minsan npapansin ko pag start ko, my ganung sound pero nawawala din in 5 sec. pero khapon di na nawala yung sound pg nka andar. pina check ko, ang sabi alternator assembly daw problem. anyone here got the same experience po?

when the belts squeek, my first suspect is loose belt, which can easily be remedied by tightening adjustments.
my second suspect is idler pulley bearing, in which case replacement is in order. (wd 40 squirt is a temporary fix. it comes back in 2 weeks.).

back in 2005-2006, my innova's charging system failed without warning. i was told then, that the alternator's bearing failed and couldn't be fixed. i had to buy a replacement alternator. (the model was new then, and there was no such thing as ex-casa parts.). today, i could argue that alternators/bearings don't fail within 2 years of use... but back then, i was younger...

as you might suspect by now... casas don't fix.they replace.
bring your car to an outside mechanic, for second opinion.

Same year model and variant. Same problem din, replaced with bnew orig Alternator Pulley, sinabay ko na rin Drive Belt, squeaking sounds gone.

Tire rotation is important. Daming innova ako nakikita. Pudpod ang rear tires especially the outer side which means under inflated. Rotate every 5k.

I got original yokos *3500 ea
Wheel alignement toe and camber 600/set
Bendix pads 1000 set
