February 13th, 2013 03:40 AM #5411Ah ok po, salamat po... nakasanayan kasi na ndi na nagwarwarm up... Since kapag po kasi nandito sa maynila halos 1k rpm lang ok na sa loob ng subdivision, at medyo mappwersa lang po yung makina pagmainit na dahil nagdrive na ng matagal tagal sa subdivision kaya ndi ko naeexperience yung problem na ito... Ndi ko nga lang naconsider na malamig pa sa baguio tapos kailangan agad ipwersa paglabas ng garahe kaya nga siguro nahirapan..

... Style nila bulok... ang tawag sa style na yan ay "SHOTGUN TROUBLE SHOOTING". Kumbaga sa doktor na walang alam, pa-iinumin ka ng maraming gamot (para sa sakit sa ngipin, tiyan, back pain, ubo, etc) hanggang sa matsambahan ang sakit mo.
Bottom line: I-pin point muna ang source ng leak bago galawin. Ipa-engine wash mo sa kanila, tapos i-pin point kung saan ang source....then, quote sila uli for that particular part lang.
Nangyari sa nissan sentra ko yan dati...ang daming ipapagawa ng mekaniko (banawe ito)... Ginawa ko, pinalinis ko muna yung location near the leaking areas. Then engine start ko at revolution, ayun, huli ang mechanical seal ng drive shaft for the alternator. Pinagalitan ko tuloy yung mekaniko...tsk tsk tsk..gagawin pa akong Tan%^a eh trabaho ko mekanikal...hehehehe... In the end, hindi ko rin pinapalitan ang seal kasi magtatagal ako at kailangan ko ng umuwi ng bataan, anyway, napaka-tolerable naman ang leak nya...bumili lang ako ng engine oil at refill lang ako ng refill konti every week.
Anyway, the safest way is to replace that seal and check the shaft for worn out. I don't recommend gawin mo ginawa ko na binale-wala lang ang leak, lalo if its regarding steering leaks (safety concern ito and needs immediate repair). In my case kasi, alam ko limitasyon ng sira kung kritikal ba or hindi.

Na pin point nila na rin ang leak sa engine. resealed po lahat sa middle part. at ang binayaran ko ay sa pag reseal lang nong sa gitna. at sa 7 years na ng Innova pina palitan ko na rin ang mga gasket na medyo matigas na. At least timing po PMS na rin, change oil for fully synthetic. at pinapalitan ko na rin ng coolant since matatapon yun. Damaged po ako around 14k. Ok na rin kasi kasali na coolant, fully synthetic oil, oil filter ,gaskets doon sa CYLINDER HEAD COVER NO.1 and 2., water pump gasket. no charged na po doon sa pag change ng gasket sa cylinder head.
as of now ok na po sya... no leaks.. at ang linis ng engine oil ko at coolant parang bagoLast edited by kristine123; February 13th, 2013 at 11:24 PM.

Tama po, pag may leak ang valve cover sa ibabaw, papalitan yung Gasket no. 2 (middle gasket), usually pag nagpalit ka nito pati outer papalitan din. Nakapag-DIY na ko ng palit Gasket 1 and 2 pero after one year nag leak din ulit.
Final solution is a P50 silicon gasketbinaklas ko ulit cylinder head cover, then clean it including the rubber gasket, put even amount on silicon gasket and put back valve cover and tighten nuts around it and right now 2 years have past again at wala pa ring leaks sa valve cover. Hehehe
P50 lang pala na silicon gasket ang katapat, mahal din yung Cylinder Gasket 1 and 2 nasa almost 2k/pair.
repair kit lang. car care nut says, for toyotas, he recommends entire assembly replacement for...
