anybody experienced a cel on a vvt-i? just did in a 2008 m/t with 85k odo. the cel just lit up out of nowhere accompanied by very low rpms approaching stall levels unresponsive to gas pedal depression. after bringing the car to the side, turned ignition off. after restarting after a few seconds, cel was gone and was back to normal operation as if nothing happened ever since. brought to toyota north edsa for scanning and according to the SA, found issues with the throttle body actuator. possible cause among others is a dirty egr requiring 2 to 3 days of cleaning and evaluation. EGR cleaning is not part of the pms. Any way to prevent a repeat of the incident without waiting for the cel or the car to lose power? Other opinions? Many thanks and merry christmas to all.

kapag umilaw na yung CEL, kahit na nawala, nandun pa din yung error code. mas mabuti kung magpapa engine diagnostics (scan) ka na lang ulit outside casa (second opinion). iwas hula hula at siguradong accurate. mahirap yung may ipapagalaw/ipapagawa ka basta basta yun pala, hindi doon yung problema. cost magpa scan mga 500 to 800 pesos.

yung throttle actuator ng mga VVTi ay plastic yung gear, kapag nabungi na yun, P34,000/per set ang damage niyan sir. parts pa lang, wala pang labor.

madaming sensor ang mga EFI engines. bawat sensor may fault code. yun yung lalabas sa diagnostics tool (scanner) kapag nagpa run ka ng diagnostics sa car shop para malaman ng mekaniko kung ano ba talaga ang cause ng low idling close to engine shutdown na naexperience mo before, para iwas hula hula ang pag determine ng sira sa innova mo.

kung nung nagpa scan ka sa Casa at sinabi nila na ang fault code na lumabas ay throttle actuator, dapat may recommendation sila sa job order after nung nagpa PMS, na kung dapat bang palitan o dapat bang irepair yung part na yun. pero kung Casa, sigurado palit piyesa yun.

i go to the gas station (petron) that has a promo.. hecho derecho.. i use whatever they have off the shelf. i've been doing it for 10 years.. no problem naman..

Regular change oil ang requirement. 8 liters yata pag diesel. 7 pag gas yata.

Oil kahit shell or aan gas station ka man.
Alam ko 7 to 8 yan innova.

Normal po ba ito mga sir? Napansin ko lang na medyo malangis itong hose na ito na nakakabit sa air filter hose yung isang dulo. Para saan po ba ito? 2500 kms pa lang Innova J ko. Salamat and Happy New Year!

Blow by gas yan, yan yung typical na nilalagyan ng oil catch can, pero parang di normal para sa mileage ng sasakyan mo.

Normal lang yan, yung casa kasi pag nag refill ng oil sobra. Hintaying maka 2k yung odo mula ng magpa-pms ka halos mawawala yan halos itapon nya yung sobra sa decompression hose, kung hindi medyo loose or may defect yung valve.

Yan din hinala ko sir vix sumobra langis kasi halos kaka 1k pms ko pa lang saka sya nagkaganyan.

Di dapat sumubra ang oil kapagnag change oil ka, sunod yan, mag leak yan sa gaskets mo.

Hello tsikoters.. may nabasa kse ako sa kabilang thread regarding sa pag mix ng 2t sa gasolina (sabi 30ml 2t per 20L gasoline ang ratio)..

ano ba good and bad effects sa engine ng ating Innova VVTI of mixing 2t sa gasolina?

Pag 97 octane rating (seaoil extreme 97 o shell nitro+) ba ang kinarga hinahaluan pa rin ba 2t?

Na curious lang ako..

Afaik diesels lang ang hinahaluan nila ng 2t, to protect the injectors daw.

not that i know.. basta lang walang tubig.
i've tried everything, and i did not notice any significant difference.. medyo ma-amoy lang ang ptt..
right now, i'm into the cheapest versions of shell and caltex, because these are what i pass thru to and from work..

Hindi naman mausok ang d4d para haluan ng 2T. Para lang sa mga old school diesel engine lang yun at sensitive masyado ang d4d
Btw pang diesel lang yata ang 2t di pwede sa vvti. Correct me if I'm wrong

Mabilis ba talaga matanggal ang rear bumper reflector? My Innova was released last week lang Ngayon napansin ko nawala na Both reflectors 😠 and no idea how it got lost. How much ba ito of ever and saan may available?
