it may be effective for me but not effective for others so i cannot say gold is better than silver. pero since positive ang effect sa innova namin, ill just stick with caltex gold or its equivalent with other gas stations.

So ramdam ang diff ng SILVER at GOLD? if thats the case, worth it yung additional para sa premium fuel. will try to switch to Petron XCS after 1,000kms PMS.

better yet, try an experiment. have someone else fill up for you. of course, he should not tell you what fuel was loaded. record your observations. you can compare later after 4-6 full tanks of each type, the car's performance. the more full tanks of each type you compare, the more accurate your results will be.

theoretically however, in several threads no significant difference between the regular and premium variants of fuel have been observed both for the gasoline and diesel engines.

what really matters most is whether your fuel is contaminated or not. stay clear of stations that are often flooded and those that have cleanliness problems. how can you expect clean fuel from stations that cannot be kept clean and tidy by management.

    hope this helps

an experiment by 5th gear for different octane rating: (note modern cars cpu adjust to your fuel rang you used; so better disconnect battery if it will reset the cpu if you want to take advantage of your chosen fuel rating)

I used to fill up my '07 Innova with Shell Unleaded ever since I first took it out of the dealership... Am using Petron Xtra Unleaded now on my 2012 Innova... Can't feel much of a difference... It's just that I read somewhere here in Tsikot or in one of the forums that I frequent to that Petron fuel is much cleaner than that of Shell... The thread even insinuated that some guys wearing uniforms with yellow and red colors on it, obviously pertaining to Shell employees loading up their vehicles with Petron fuel.

Maybe Petron fuels is cleaner than the Caltex and Shell, because the latter two uses an aging pipeline which had a history of pipeline burst/leakage in the basement of a condominium.

Maybe, not only aging pipelines but also aging terminals.

Gas variant? just the usual consumables, oil, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, tranny oil (gear oil for m/t, atf for a/t). check tires narin at this stage (balance, alignment, or replace if ever). btw, g has aircon filter as well.

This is the cycle that is stated in the manual and as recommended by dealers.

Note: If you will do your maintenance at the dealer just say to the Service Advisor that you don't like those engine treatment or decarbonizing ek ek, it will cost you too much money. Just do a regular change oil PMS. You can also do PMS at any gasoline stations and follow what I listed below and you'll save around 40-60% cost than doing it at the dealer.

    EVERY 5K KMS:

Change oil and filter (for mineral oil)
Change fuel filter element ( due to bad quality diesel we have, cost around P400 only)
Check fluid levels for brake, coolant and power steering fluids.
    Check brake pad thickness.

EVERY 40K Kms ODO reading you will need to change all lubricants and coolants.

    engine oil
    transmission oil.
    rear differential oil
    power steering fluid
    radiator coolant
    brake/clutch fluid

    fuel filter
    air filter
    engine oil filter
    cabin filter

    For checking:

    check brake pads thickness
    check all shock absorbers
    check all light bulbs

Hope this helps and safe driving

Both cabin filter (a/c filter) and air filter are usually changed every 20K km. inspect mo pareho, baka puede linis muna 'till you reach 40K.

Hi Ginnova, I am just new here. I have seen some of your post. You seems to be a guru in innova. Just want to ask kung lang regarding my options dun sa nasirang rear bumper ko. Nabutas yung right area sa may tambucho sya kasi nabunggo ng Jeep.
    1. Okay ba kung ipapatahi then hindi mahahalata sya? and is it not a good approach?
    2. Kung papaltan yung model 2010 na innova how much ang rear bumper ngayon and where do you recommend?
    3. Ano ano mga kelangan ko bilin and how much kaya yung kelangan para ipapagawa ko nalang sya para labor nalang pay ko.
    4. Medyo na dent ng konti kasi yung tambucho. With the bump and dented yung tambucho ng konti, may tama ba yun or complication sa mismong sasakyan?

Hope you can provide me some input. Thanks!

Welcome to the Innova forum. First off, I don't consider myself a guru here.
For your bumper, i do not recommend na ipatahi since i doubt it will hold-up. Pls. post a pics of your damaged bumper so members can recommend the best route of repair.

Check out this sulit add for a second hand rear bumper which is only being sold for 3K.

For the exhaust, unless the dent is big enough to cause restriction then it should be ok. Again, pls post some photos.
