Zeroc00l_7,
I also asked the casa what's the proper way to "break-in" the innova?
Their advice... drive it normally like how would you drive, BUT don't go over than 100 kph. You may go over than 100 kph but don't stay too long.
That's what I did.

Hello to everyone!
I'm one of the newest members here and this is my initial post.
It's great to know that this type of forums exist as it is very informative.
I had my Toyota Innova since 2005 I believe it was the year when it was first introduced in the market. I'm living and workin' here in Ireland and only managed to enjoy my car for 6 weeks as i went back here after that period and never been home since. It is a "G" model dsl M/T. I was just looking around for it's newest models when i happened to come across this forum so I decided to join in. I'm looking forward to go home this December for another six weeks holiday and can't wait to be re-united with my car. Now for my set of questions.., how far did Innova G dsl evolved for the past 2 yrs? do i need to do some critical upgrades with my 05 model? Was there any design flaws that I need to look into? Hoping to hear from you lads. Thank's in advance and looking forward to meet some if not all of you this December.

AFAIK, there's a recall issue regarding rear axle on units with production dates Feb. - Dec. 2005 across all models... TMP will replace it at no cost to you... kindly take note also if your unit is experiencing choking or hard starting problems in the morning as this was also an issue on 2005 models... you might also want to purchase a set of wheel well covers to protect your foglamps.
Thank's for the useful info. I purchased mine in Toyota Balintawak so I suppose this is where my brother should ask for the correction of the said fault.. and how about the choking episodes? will they correct this free of charge as well? Although my brother never reported any problems regarding any of these maybe because they only use it very seldomly but I suppose it would be wiser for it to be checked just in case. How did they issue the recall? Did they contacted the owners thru mail, phonecall or somethin' coz my brother didn't mention anythin' bout the said issue.
Thank's again and more power!

Toyota Balintawak should have sent your brother a letter regarding the rear axle recall as what other dealerships did... anyways, it's posted in TMP's website... about the choking problem, i think it has something to do with the Fuel pump or filter on dsl variants... not sure though... just have it checked.![]()
Sir, the recall was posted in the newspapers and even reported on TV. I think you just need to visit your dealer and asked for it. They'll verify your unit's model and have it replaced free of charge. FOr the choking part or hard starting, I suggest that you need to have this checked even if your brother has not experienced it. It's just a precaution. It wouldn't hurt trying![]()
I'm from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and we recently got an Innova G /gas/MT jan sa atin. After choosing selectively amongst a wide range of vehicles, we ended up choosing between a Toyota Innova and Isuzu Crosswind. Medyo tinabangan lang ako sa Crosswind because of the so many problems associated with it.
Dito sa KSA, ngayon palang halos lumabas ang Innova as you can see them plying on the roads lately.
Welcome to Innova Owners thread.
In my era 0.50 Riyals lang per liter noon.
Isa pa gusto ng mga Arabo ay yung may good response sa acceleration and road grip and Innova can deliver that.
Good day to all innova owners, in connection to that statement that CASA only use their TOYOTA MOTOR OIL and nothing else. Actually during my 10,000 pd service they offered me Mobil 1 aside from their toyota mineral and fully synthetic oil medyo pricy lang talaga and short me s budget kaya i did choose the mineral brand 15w-40w. Probably next time i will go for fully synthetic kc sabi naman ng SA can be use up to 10,000 km. Ask ko lang din sa mga d4d owner kung na try nyo na magpachange oil sa shell station and used their motor oil. tnx and more power to our innova club.![]()
Di kaya racket ng SA yan that they're offering you Mobil 1 or any motor oil brand for that matter other than toyota oil? We will never know unless we investigate or secure a proof. Two dealers I have dealt with regarding the issue of your choice of oil to use during the PMS, both says it'll void the warranty. Befriend the SA to get through it? I ain't that lucky.
