hope you could help me with these questions:

    1. how long is the break-in period? what is the usual mileage reading, so u can safely say that your car is done with the break-in pd.? first 1000km speeds of 60 to 80km avoid full throttle acceleration..

    1. what is the max driving speed during the break-in period? lets say you're done with the first PMS. TIA!
after 1000km PMS with Fully synthetic oil. speeds of 80 to 110km. Avoid hard revving on stop and go traffic, less pollution saves the environment.

Good day guys, I would like to share my current experience with Toyota Makati PMS (30,000) done May 28, 2010.

Before I had my PMS my FC was 10Km/L. After the PMS it went down to 8km/L and for the first time I suffered engine stalling twice.

I called Toyota Makati and this was the explanation:

Stalling: They said the culprit was the clutch. According to them this is prevalent with Manual Transmissions. Mine is a 2007 E D4D Manual. I can't see the connection and if this argument correct then this should not be happening since my innova is practically new. Can anyone of you guys share your take on this.

Change in FC from 10 km/l to 8km/l: I made the complaint 2 weeks ago and the said this was normal. They said I should be happy considering others have an FC of 7km/l. I almost slammed the phone when I heard the excuse.

Anyways , this morning I checked the dipstick for the first time since the PMS, and lo and behold, to my surprise the oil level is 1/4 inch above the max level. Approximately that translates to about 500ml of excess oil. I did a DYI and removed the excess. There was a dramatic change in engine response. I am also certain this is the reason for the lower FC.

And to think that the reason I am going to the CASA for my periodic maintenance is for peace of mind. This mistakes should not be happening.

I think I solved the FC problem but now the engine is stalling, I just hope there is no permanent damage done by the over filling of oil.

    Any comment on my experience?

Use sinulid or thin nylon string, gently insert sunulid (for sewing) or nylon string between emblem and body. Pull parallel until the emblem gives. Then use gas to remove remaining adhesive.

If I were you since malapit na matapos warranty mo, ilaban mo na yan na palitan nila yung supply pump.

Hi guys, hope you can give your inputs:

    1. What car freshener do you guys use? ako kasi gumagamit lang ako ng dehumidifier. dati i used to put california scents.

    2. How do you figure out kung normal ba lahat ng mga sounds na nadidinig mo sa kotse mo? i have a second hand innova kasi eh. i dont know kung normal ba nag start ka ng engine in the morning, talaga bang malakas ang tunog compared pag mainit na yung makina, etc..

    thanks po.

Yesterday I had my new set of clutch installed at Caltex Fairview, wow parang bago na ulit ang hatak ng car ko

All original Toyota Parts from Gant auto supply.

    Clutch cover
    Clutch disc
    release bearing
    ----------------
    P 7,000.00

    Transmission pull down _ (Caltex)
    --------------------------------
    P1,200.00 (3 Hours)

    Total cost P8,200.00

Clutch cover malalim na yung score mark sa fingers due to release bearing contact which is the usual reason of replacement, hard clutch symptom.

Generally, maayos magtrabaho yung mechanics ng Caltex Fairview at kumpleto sa gamit kaya mabilis ang gawa nila pero they counter check each other work kaya pati mga turnilyo ibinalik nila ng maayos at walang puwersahan. Pati ako nakiki-mechanic sa ilalim ng lifter

    P5,000.00 (allow 3-5 working days)

    Total Toyota dealer cost: P14,600.00

thanx sa advice.fully synthetic gamit ko kasi 3 to 5 days nka park lng ang mga kotse. and mas matipid sa fuel pag fully synthetic..

And share ko lng po. today nag change ako ng 4set of tires. ang original tires ng innova is Yokohama Aspec 205/65r15.
Nag change ako to Falken ziex ze912 same lng din. I notice mas less ang noise on cement roads and very quiet on the asphalt compare sa yokohama.
driving on wet roads mas secure siya pag nag brake unlike sa yokohama. tomorow i plan to fill it nitrogen. and see pag may effect fuel consumption.

    1. Car freshener? It all depends on your preference on what scent and brand. Better po kung organic freshener. Maganda naman ang california scent brand.

    2. Normal po ung loud engine sound especially on the first engine start in the morning.

Pinapull down ko rin yung tranny ko last month sa casa and yes it took them 5 days to complete the job but i was able to get a service vehicle from them kasi warranty claim naman. May squeaking sound kasi ako naririnig kapag partially depressed yung clutch pedal lalo sa umaga pag malamig pa makina.SA told me OK pa daw disk at bearing. may in-align

good day to all, I am a toyota innova owner and long been lurker on this site I just ant to share a news about toyota engines....

    Toyota warns about faulty engines

Page last updated at 07:48 GMT, Thursday, 1 July 2010 08:48 UK

Japanese car giant Toyota has warned about potential faults with the engines of about 270,000 cars it has sold worldwide, including the luxury Lexus.
It said the engines could stall while being driven, but affected vehicles have not yet been recalled.
This is the latest problem to hit the carmaker, which has recalled more than 10 million vehicles globally since last September.
Fresh figures show Toyota's June sales were up 26.7% on a year ago.
Worries about further reputational damage and the costs of a potential recall pushed Toyota shares down by more than 2% on Thursday.
