I wonder when they will release it here in PH. Can you share the link?

Hello po! Registered just a few minutes ago.

In light of this thread, Ask lang po sana ako about the 11.5 gen one kasi kukuha ako this year na.

Mejo set na talaga ako sa 1.6G Manual since I've always wanted for my first car to be a manual so I can enjoy it (Don't kill me please, I know generally matic na way to go given our traffic here sa PH pero set na talaga ako dun)

So moving forward, since first car ko po, tanong lang po sana ako sa mga bagay bagay sa pag own ng car, and for sure may mga bagay na dapat ko po i-take note.

From the top of my head, here are the things I would like to ask:

    1. Ok po ba V-kool na tint? Going for dark sides/rear and pretty semi dark front

    2. What kind of carpet material na ok na madali linisin and di masyado dumihin( di ko alam tawag dun sa parang hair na ewan yung material that catches stuff and water para pagpag nalang)

    3. Since ako lang ata iilan na trip yung beige interior, san po ok na leather set place na kumuha? Eto na encounter ko so far. Lederland, Leather One, Leather mega seats. Gusto ko sana talaga same color sa beige nya

    4. Leather or Leatherette for seat material? pros and cons?

    5. San po ok na toyota branches to have service done na di ka ma short-change or maloloko? Otis, Manila Bay, and Pasong Tamo po nasabi sakin

    6. what stuff do i need to buy for personal maintenance? wax, yung pinapahid sa headlamps para di dumilaw, ano pa po?

    7. Car cover brands? yung parang blanket

    8. Any other things related sa 11.5 gen altis I should take note of? and car ownership in general.

Sorry po sa abala, first time ko po talaga. Since definitely the biggest monetary decision ko talaga, I wanna get this right, and with little mistakes as possible.

Looking forward po sa response! (Please be gentle)

    velcome!

marami pa ring he-man na prefered ang MT. hindi kayo nag-i-isa.
besides, peruse the AT owners' problems, and you'll feel better. heh heh.

think very well what tint can do. if they can't look in, you probably will have diminished ability to look out, also.
some folks have even resorted to upgrading their headlights, to compensate for their darker outlook in life.

i prefer carpets that have mas matigas na backing. some pasajeros kasi, don't know how to ride in cars. they push the carpets away...
i sometimes buy from carpet stores and not auto accessories stores. i then trim them to size myself.

leather and leatherette? personally, i prefer fabric. they're softer and cooler. some faux leather material kasi, pag upo mo ay parang sa velcro ka umupo. ayaw dumulas into place ang pantalon!

except for plain water, i do not pahid my headlights. they will get cataractic faster, if you do.

i hope you have the owner's manual. peruse them, po. especially the maintenance chapters.

enjoy your car, po. don't let it enslave your weekends. heh heh.
    ...but i doubt it...

    1. Ok po ba V-kool na tint? Going for dark sides/rear and pretty semi dark front

Marami ditong magandang experiance sa V-Kool. Kaya siguro OK. Ako naka 3M for decades. At saka baka kasi ipagbawal ng MMDA some day ang dark.

    2. What kind of carpet material na ok na madali linisin and di masyado dumihin( di ko alam tawag dun sa parang hair na ewan yung material that catches stuff and water para pagpag nalang)

Stock carpet lang ako. Basta vacuum o pagpag parati kapag nagpa-carwash.

    4. Leather or Leatherette for seat material? pros and cons?

Mainitin ang leather/leatherette sa summer. Stock cloth seat cover ako ever since. Basta do not spill anything on it, at ipa-laundry every 2-3 months.

    6. what stuff do i need to buy for personal maintenance? wax, yung pinapahid sa headlamps para di dumilaw, ano pa po?

Hardly nag dilaw ang headlights ko. 10 years usually ang kotse sa akin.

    7. Car cover brands? yung parang blanket

    Kung may garahe, no need.

    8. Any other things related sa 11.5 gen altis I should take note of? and car ownership in general.

Keep it clean, follow periodic maintenance schedule. Kung mineral oil, change oil and oil filter every 5000 kilometers. Drive moderately and defensively. Relax.

    inspired, heh heh.
TS kasi reminds me of myself, when i was also new to car ownership.
i was just advising him on some of my hard-earned lessons.

i have had longer posts in the past. lalo na kung interesting ang kuwento.

    it's relaxing.

I also had a 1.6G MT before. It was liveable even in metro traffic, but of course an automatic is less tiring.

In exchange, you get a much more engaging drive compared to the automatic Altis. The 6-speed manual on the Altis is pretty great - gear ratios are well-spaced and power delivery feels much better than the CVT.

    To answer your questions:

    1. I had Vkool VK70 clear tint on my Altis before. Now I have Vkool OEM20 on my Mazda 3 and 3M CS05/CS20 on my Civic. The 3M CS is slightly cheaper than Vkool OEM and does the job just as well, but if you like Vkool then go ahead.

    2. The stock mats are easy to clean. No need to change them until they wear out. I'm not a fan of the deep dish mats.

    3. I kept my seats stock with no seat covers before. Takes more effort to maintain though since beige cloth stains easily.

    4. Leather reupholstery if you can afford it - looks so much better than leatherette seat covers. 40k for reupholstery. 6.5k for seat covers. Personally, I would prefer to get the synthetic leather reupholstery for 14.5k - at least it fits snugly unlike the leatherette seat covers which look cheap to me.

    5. I have always had my car serviced at Toyota BGC. Never naman ako niloko.

    6. In my car I keep a quick detailer, several microfiber towels, and microfiber drying cloth. As long as you clean your car regularly and have it waxed occasionally, you'll be able to keep your car looking new.

    7. Car covers are unnecessary - just causes swirls and scratches on your car.
