Good day to everyone!

new owner po ko ng Avanza J silver. got my unit last sat sa Shaw. the next day we took it for a ride from fairview to sta rosa, laguna(EK). share ko lang po mga observations ko.

1. with a speedometer reading of 70kph, RPM is at 2500 or higher. Normal po ba ito sa Avanza?

sa 1.3 Avanza, normal para sa 5'th gear ang 3,000 rpm at 80Kph

2. when speed is above 70kph, un needle ng speedometer medyo malikot na, akala ko matatanggal eh.

Ipa silip mo sa casa. covered pa iyan ng warranty. baka may problem sa cable.

3. medyo hindi stable un rearview mirror ko, nag-vavibrate cya habang tumatakbo. panay nalang sa side mirrors na lang ko nag rerely. parang nakakahilo kasi.

Either maluwag ang pagka screw kung laging nag vivibrate. or it is possible na masyadong malakas ang vibration ng makina.

nag vivibrate ang rear view mirror ko kung nakakalikdan ko na mag down shift tapos ang bagal ko na. This is bad kasi I am lugging the engine.

4. may kahirapan lang ipasok sa reverse un cambio. minsan kelangan pa iabante ng konti para maipasok sa reverse.

I had the same problem. now bihira ng mangyari. walang nagawa ang casa to solve the problem

5. my FC is good at 12.44 km/li. mag improve pa po ba ito since break in period pa lang?

Now I get 12 to 13 km per liter becasue of the traffic sa SLEX. pero normally I get 13 to 14 km per liter sa route ko na sta. rosa <-> pasig.

Makakatulong ng konti sa FC pag gumamit ka ng full synthetic oil. I started to use full synthetic during my 10,000 Km pms. Some started at 5,000Km PMS

Maraming nagsasabi na FC will get better after 5,000 Km.

Pero overall naman, my new ride is good. our last car was a sedan pero hindi naman ko nanibago mag maneuver ng Avanza around the city. para ka nga lang nagdrive ng sedan with the advantage ng high ground clearance and 7 seater pa siya. not to mention anlakas ng torque for a 1.3 engine. a good value for the money itong Avanza natin.

Enjoy your new ride. BTW, mas maliit ang turning radius nya compared to a compact sedan.

kelan po ba next EB nyo? pwede po ba makisali?
while going home last friday, nakita ko nakapark mga Avanza nyo sa QC circle. ang ganda nila tignan. lalo tuloy ko na-excite na makuha na ung unit ko the following day.

Next EB will be sa south on the last saturday of April.

Yesterday morning po, nun start ko si vanzie ayaw na pong magstart. So ang naisip kong culprit is yung battery, nagpadeliver agad ako sa motolite express delivery. So pagkalagay nya ng bagong battery nagstart na agad. Pinacheck ko yung stock na battery sabi nya asa 8 volts na lang daw yung battery (sorry noob regarding this) sabi nya dapat daw 9 volts pataas.

Nitrade-in ko na lang yung stock ko sa new Motolite NS40 Php 3,3xx.xx - Php143 (less price nun stock battery).

Badtrip lang kc recognition nun anak ko nun nagloko ang battery. So no choice sila kundi magtaxi then humabol na lang ako after mapaltan ng battery.

Ganun kabilis po bang masira yung stock battery ng vanzie natin? Purchased last June 2008 lang yun eh... pero sa seatbelt nakalagay Feb 2008. Sabi kc ng iba dapat 2 years daw yun.

If I remember correctly, the stock battery has a warranty of 1 year. If so, libreng palit kung nasira if with in the warranty period.

Mine died after 1.5 years.

madami nang nakawala nang ganon.. madali kasi sya malaglag pag nalubak.. kumuha ako nang plastic envelope na black.. yung medyo makapal. yun ang nilagay ko.. ok pa naman hanggang ngayon.. yung iba.. likod nang CD case.. pwede din!

Naku sayang warranty. Nagmamadali kasi ako nun time na yun so yun lang ang naisip kong paraan.

So 12 months lang pala talaga daw yung GS Battery. Same tayo ng pinakabit sir, NS40 small poles.

Pero sayang kasama pala sa warranty yun.

Sakin August 2007 pa till now buhay pa never na nagloko at malakas pa redondo nya so I think tatagal pa. So sa August 2 yrs na battery ko.

IMO, wala... kasi sakin minsan 1 to 2 weeks ko di ginagamit car while alarm is activated and without warming up the engine, but then it never fails. Alaga lang dapat sa water level.

inoobserbahan ko na maigi ung unit para pag sa 1k PM, isang pagawaan na lang sa casa. Since nung nakuha ko last sat sa Shaw ung unit, odo reading ko ay 480 km na. baka next week lang mag 1k na ito. sa Shaw na rin ko mag pa 1k, may mga feedbacks po ba kayo sa service nila?

TIA. andami ko natututunan dito. actually, dito rin ko nag research ng info about sa Avanza bago kami magdecide na bumili. So far satisfied naman ako sa performance and i'm enjoying my ride.

Ok sir, akala ko kc baka dahil sa alarm eh. Wala po kasi akong alam sa kotse so yung battery eh nachecheck lang tuwing PMS. KakaPMS ko lang last month, nakita ko naman chineck nun gumagawa yung battery tapos me nilagay sya na liquid galing sa platic container... not sure kung ano yun. Tapos after 2 week yun na nga ayaw na magstart...

sa Toyota Shaw din ako nagpapa PMS since day 1... naka sched ako nang April 6 for 25K PMS kaya lang wala nga palang pasok yun.. tinawagan ako kanina nang shaw.. sabi ko mamaya na lang ako magpapa 25K.

kung magpapa PMS ka.. look for sir Tony. Madaling kausap yan, mabait pa. So far lahat nang request ko eh walang problema, naka 2 claim na din ako nang warranty.

Hindi kasi Maintenance Free yung stock battery natin. Pag ganon, i check mo dapat yung water at least every week. You can put ordinary Distilled water. Yun yung nilagay nang CASA don sa battery mo.

Pero since nagpalit ka na. Maintenance Free na yang Motolite Gold. 15 months yata warranty nyan or 20 months. Wala din yatang lagayan nang water yan. So no need to check for water anymore.

Hi All, I just had a terrible experience with my beloved Avanza. I had a slight collision while traveling at less than 40kph with about only 2 cars distance from the car ahead. The car in front made a sudden stop, and of course with the ABS i couldn't stop in time. Anyway, there was no damage to the car I collided with and not much with mine as well. The bumper was pushed a little inside causing it to dis-align which was only noticeable from the side (connecting to the fender). So obviously it doesn't look that bad. However, there was this metal support that was perpendicular to the radiator that was only a few inches from it. And this metal support was pushed right into the radiatator as some kind of a "self-destruct" mechanism that will render your avanza un-driveable even on a slight collision. In fact I think if I kick the bumper hard enough, I'd do just as much damage to my avanza.

This happened in Laguna so I had to have a wrecker transport my avanza all the way to manila for simple collision that should not have rendered my avanza un-driveable. This cost me 5k and the insurance will only cover for 1,500 for towing.

So if I were you, i'd have that metal support removed or relocated.

Can I sue toyota for that design flaw?

I think that is park of the crumple zone for safety.

Ng nag brake ka, sinagad mo ang tapak sa preno at hindi binitawan? May vibration ba? This vibration is normal for ABS.

Same with me. After reading this tread, d pala ako nag iisa. My battery(stock battery, GS) lasted for 19 months, swerte ko na ata. it went out after a week from a long trip from Bicol. D ko kasi ginagamit araw-araw papunta sa office. I replace it with outlast battery, ns40, reverse polarity, small poles & maintenance free, mga 3,000+ din. Anyway, I got a 20-month warranty for the battery, good deal na i think.

Anyone, with experience with outlast battery?

Not only that, I got my avanza thru the car plan of my company ang tagal ko hinintay. I scouted to at least 5-6 dealers and I got a lot of comment about it..."IF IT IS DONE THRU FINANCING, YOUR ARE PRIORITIZE..." sakit sa ulo...me mga commision ata dito....Anyway, I got my Avanza after 3 months of waiting (silver kasi)... By the way, It was the time that the second shipment is still awaiting in accordance with the price increase(2007) because of the airbag (in fairness with the dealers).

What?!?! Ang dudupang talaga, o... :nono:


Oh, well, talagang ganyan... you have only 2 choices: take it or leave it. :sigh:
