Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) remains to be the number one automotive company in the country as reported by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI). Toyota captured 33.5 percent market share in February with total sales of 2,303 units. Toyota also retained leadership in both the passenger car (PC) and commercial vehicle categories with 47.5 percent and 24.8 percent market share respectively. Toyota's market dominance is attributed to the strong sales of the Vios and Altis in the PC segment and the Innova in the CV category. The new Toyota Innova, which was launched late last month, is the number one Multipurpose Vehicle (MPV) with 658 units sold.
In less than a month, 658 Toyota Innova MPVs roam the Philippine roads. This makes the Innova the best selling vehicle in the market for February with almost 35 percent market share. Toyota's aggressive efforts in unveiling its premium MPV to the market paid off as the Innova's versatile, user-friendly features and all-around safety endeared itself to the hearts of the Filipino Families all over the country. Not to mention, advances in engine technology come alive with the D-4D Common Rail Diesel Turbo Engine and the Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (VVT-i) Gasoline engine, giving boosted fuel efficiency and performance, powers the Innova.
In line with the market introduction of the Innova, Toyota invites all Filipino Families to visit any of the 25 Toyota Dealerships nationwide this coming weekend, March 19 to 20, 2005 to celebrate the Toyota Summer Festival Weekend. All the members of the family will experience a fun and exciting Innova weekend with the different activities and giveaways from Toyota. Drawing and Singing Contest will be held for kids aged ten and below. Clowns and magicians will give out goodie bags while other members of the family get summer freebies only from Toyota.

No question about it, Sportivo had only cosmetic upgrades which are nice but it still has the same old engine under the hood... while Innova is completely different, new design, engine, suspension. Its a breath of fresh air in the AUV/MPV segment.
