Artsky, it might, and it's only based on my assumption that bigger rims will require wider tires resulting in added drag, but then, I might be wrong as the lower profile sidewalls might have lessened rotational load.....

Sa mga ka-Vios na nag switch from stock rims to bigger rims, pa advise Kung adversely affected ang FC's nyo

Thanks aDD_L. I was thinking that bigger tires are heavier but I'm not sure if the added size would add significant load for the engine to consume more gas.

I think we really need to press on that button to fully remove it. I assume it has been designed that way (for safety reasons).

if you change wheel size, definitely what will be affected is your speedometer. it will no longer be accurate, making your odometer inaccurate also.

    more weight, more gas consumption

bigger wheels in terms of diameter will consume more gas because it will technically raise the profile of your car & therefore will result in more drag

wider wheel base will also result in more drag but will give more traction on the road

just choose lighter rims. changed mine before from stock 13" steel rims to lighter 15" alloy rims. FC didn't change that much. play with tire pressure too. ;)

Also to note, the 1.3 has a third passenger shoulder belt in the rear (pretty important nowadays, actually) and ISOFIX Latch anchors in the back for child seats.

For those with small babies, the ISOFIX system and large trunk are a big consideration in buying a new car. Kudos to Toyota for including them.

    Shameless plug:

Yup, tama, ganyan din ginagawa ko sa speedometer ng mountain bike ko pag ibang wheelset/tires gamit ko. Pero pag moving to big rims then lower profile tires, kaya ba retain, more or less, yung overall wheel diameter para hindi na ire calibrate yung speedometer?

it may not be that significant in the onset or short run (months), but in the long run (years) it will

Kung ang gulong natin ay 185/60r15, pwede kaya palakihin ang gulong sa 195/50r16? Then look for a set of tasty 16inch rims?
Kasi yung totl na vios sa thailand naka 195/50r16.
Please enlighten me about this. TIA

*rheathyurd, thanks for the link. There's a 0.27% difference in wheel diameter moving from the current 15 incher to a 16 incher. Thailand has an S variant and its using a 16 incher.

Just wanted to share this, had my car have paint protection. Its good for one year. Saw this detailing in petron buendia and noticed it was one of the very few accredited by foilacar to wash and detail super cars.

Talked to them and offered me paint protection thats good for one year. They have 2 types but i chose the one that lasts for a year first and probably get the omnicoat which looks better than the one from ziebart after a few months.

the problem is our vios here is tuned to work with 15-inch. well, if you don't mind having inaccurate readings on your dash, then do whatever pleases you.
