Mga sir, been reading this thread simula pa nung dumating ang new vios sa atin pero natigil kasi busy at hindi pa bibili.

Pero ngayon nagbabalik ako para mag research. Been choosing between Vios 1.3/1.5 matic and City 1.5 matic ano mas OK?

anyway, nagkarga na ko 95RON from petron at nawala nga yung ingay within sa first 10km na takbo ko. engine knocking kaya yun mga bossing due to 91Ron? Thanks.

Kung tunog nya parang tansan na kinakalog or tunog diesel engine, knocking nga yan sir. Pag meron pa din, wag ka na muna mag petron.
IMO, wala naman effect talaga sa hatak ang RON, it's just to prevent lang engine knocks.

tunog roleta ang fuel knock. based on the manual it's normal hear short knocks when climbing ang accelerating. sa akin sa extra unleaded ng petron more ang knocking, less with xcs pero no knock with other gas brands.

It's not normal to hear knocking. Knocking = preignition = bad. Just avoid the fuel that makes your engine knock.

sorry kung stupid q... regarding headlights...

I have a vios E... can I just buy a pair of original G headlights (with projectors), and install in my E model?... plug and play ba installation?...

Or im better off on aftermarket type of headlights (like Gary Q, or Gel999 posted)

Yes you can but mapapamahal ka lang. Pag kay garyq ka nagpagawa, at least HID na yung headlamps mo.

Yung sa G, even if projector headlamps yun, halogen pa rin siya. If you put HID in it mataas ang probability na sabog pa rin yun dahil iba pa rin ang projector na pang halogen sa projector na pang HID.

thanks for the heads up...

I just want to improve the headlights... saw in sulit someone selling G headlights... (should be cheaper than garyq)... but your right, its not HID (which i didnt consider/notice)...

Though admittedly, I want to maintain original look... oem toyota original... medyo purist ako :-)

With HID kit and ballast is 28,500 per set, without HID kit and ballast nasa 25k po.

Includes 2 headlight assembly, smoked with U shape led light bar and projectors.

perhaps you're right and of course all of us here don't want to hear knocks but i'm just sharing what's in the manual that hearing short knocks while climbing and accelerating should not cause you worries.

tunog roleta nga! so engine knock nga. XCS na ginamit ko so far di ko na narinig yung ingay. Will probably shift to shell nitro kung magkaissue pa. salamat mga bossing. more power!

Have tried the following, XCS, Xtreme 97, Nitro+racing, Blaze (tunog roleta padin) but Shell Fuelsave wins my vote. Ang smooth tska minimal to none ung knocking, considering 91 RON lang sya. My 0.02$ :D

Sa akin po paps papalitan daw lower arm suspension both left and right nasa 24k yung dalawa, ipinasabay ko na din yung blinking issue, ECU daw nasa 16k naman, all are approved already by warranty dept. waiting for parts na lang. buti na lang nakarecord sa kanila yung complain ko since 1,000 PMS ngayon nasa 26 thousand kilometers na atsaka palang nila aaksyonan.. at 10k PMS nag stop na ako mag pa PMS sa kanila. buti naman at nacover pa din

Yesterday, nagpa 5k PMS kami. Naisabay na din yung pagpalit ng pyesa. Bad trip lang at di ko matandaan kung anong pinalitan para mawala yung kalampag.

Upon taking the car home, I was eager to test it to see if the kalampag is gone. First few bumps, solid ang tunog. I told my wife that it does sound like it was brand new again. Few kilometers later, ayun, andun pa din yung same na kalampag. Sobrang nakaba-bad trip talaga. Even the noise from the dashboard, hindi din nawala. I haven't contacted Toyota again but will do so sometime next week.

I know that a lot here love this car and I can't blame them. Maganda talaga siya pero yung samin kasi, I'm starting to think na lemon ata to. This is by far the worst brand new car that we've ever had. On top of that, my average FC is 9.5Km/l. For a 1.3 engine car, this is also the worst FC that we've experienced.

Oh well. Hopefully maayos yung kalamapag. At this stage, I don't think it's worth that money that we're paying month on month.

mga sir, sa meron po vios j. ask ko lang kung ok pa din po radio nyo unit nyo? yung sakin po kasi namatayan ako ng makina, tapos pag start ko d na nag open yung radio? ano po kaya nangyari dun sir? ( all stock pa din po wala pang ginagalaw sa mga wires)

Kalampag pag naka daan ka ng lubak ba sir? Vios ko is gen 2.5 limited may kalampag pag from higher gears then slowly mag shift ako going to second gears then accelerate thats the time tutunog ang kalampag sa ilalim ng dash. Pina check ko sa casa and found out na gear cable pala na lossen out kaya nag rattle at tatama sa kaha kaya parang kalampag kung pakinggan. Na address yun at nawala na ang sound. Try to check daw ang sa inyo baka same tayo. HTH

question po on engine knock. may mga nagdescribe na tunog roleta po ito kung tama ang tanda ko. pag po ba may engine knock ay consistent yung tunog from cold start to acceleration to uphill or occasional lang po ito?
been hearing weird rattling sound but i am not sure if its coming from dash panels lang or from the engine. very seldom ku lang naman marinig tipong one or twice a month lang.
gen3 e at owner here using petron xcs most of the time due to bpi credit card rebate.
not sure if paranoid lang ako since i've been reading that most reported cases of knocks on vioses used petron.

Newbie here. Question regarding sa engine knock, ano na yun?

Ang naeexperience ko sa vios 1.3E automatic ay kapag nagaacelerate ako e parang ramdam ko yung pag shift ng gear like in manual cars. Normal lang ba to or ito yung engine knock?

Im using shell fuel save.
