All New 2013 Toyota Vios (3rd Gen)

I got myself lost on some mountain roads in Bataan yesterday, and I decided to see what the car can do in the corners. Interestingly, this 3rd gen Vios is much more predictable at the limit than the 1st gen Vios that I used to thrash around Tanay before. Steering is quicker, and you can actually estimate when you're gonna lose traction unlike the old Vios where it just snaps out of control. However, it's still nowhere as fun as a Fiesta.

So much for my economy run though..I was doing about 19 km/L before that playtime, but now I'm down to about 12-13.

Parang before, my SA said that they have two variants of J... One is J base and the other is J which has power windows. Some other difference is that the front and black grill is color keyed unlike the j base which is flat black.

Sino po nakapag palit na ng headlight bulb? Nagpalit po ako ng Philips Xtreme Vision H4 at ok naman yung liwanag kaso hindi nagiba yung range ng ilaw. Dahil po ba ito sa reflector? Yung slanted part ng beam lumiwanag at parang makakasilaw ng mga nasa right side ng daan.

both headlights' aim can be adjusted to one's preference. but generally, the left is aimed lower than the right, so as not to blind the oncoming drivers.

Libre naman po lahat sa 1K Pms di ba kasama adjust ng clutch unless may papalitan na parts? maingay kasi kapag inaangat ko yung clutch ng dahan dahan, dapat i-2k rpm ko pag mag gear shift. hindi naman ganun nung una (syempre). hehe

hmmm... na-experience ko before na maingay (engine knock) pag nag shift 1st to 2nd ng wala pa 2k sa RPM nung petron din gamit ko. Nag iba ko fuel, so far ok naman kahit 1.5K pa lang RPM as long as patag and mild lang apak sa gas pedal.

Mga sir, been reading this thread simula pa nung dumating ang new vios sa atin pero natigil kasi busy at hindi pa bibili.

Pero ngayon nagbabalik ako para mag research. Been choosing between Vios 1.3/1.5 matic and City 1.5 matic ano mas OK?

hmmm... na-experience ko before na maingay (engine knock) pag nag shift 1st to 2nd ng wala pa 2k sa RPM nung petron din gamit ko. Nag iba ko fuel, so far ok naman kahit 1.5K pa lang RPM as long as patag and mild lang apak sa gas pedal.

Did an eco run again from Subic to Manila. Disappointing 18.06 km/L.

I was only traveling at 75-80 kph along SCTEX, OG Road, and NLEX. Aircon thermostat was at lowest setting. As minimal braking and throttle input as possible.

Eh dati 80-100 takbo ko, 17.6 km/L. With my normal 100-140, I get about 14-15 km/L. Totally not worth the stress of driving so slowly, I'll stick to 100-140 from now on.

opinion ko lang paps. there's not much difference sa hatak kahit 95 or 91 octane pa yung fuel. it's our engine's capacity. kung 1.3 lang engine displacement ng vios natin, we don't expect it to cruise sa inclined roads, kailangan ng sagida dun... kung may tricycle na mabagal sa harap mo tapos inclined yung road, downshift to 2nd gear by the time your kph is at 20 na lang, kung nabitin ka pa, at 10 kph na lang, downshift again to 1st gear para pumitik. just my two cents, and I hope it helps he he he

I load 95 and 91 alternately and feel no noticeable difference.

yup not worth it kung one time lang ang biyahe nang malayo pero kung madalas at frequent ang travel malaking savings din IMO. base on the data and gas peg at 40PhP liter

anyway, nagkarga na ko 95RON from petron at nawala nga yung ingay within sa first 10km na takbo ko. engine knocking kaya yun mga bossing due to 91Ron? Thanks.

I travel about 2000 km worth of highway driving in a month, so thats around 600 pesos savings between my normal driving and eco driving. The stress of keeping way below my comfortable speed as well as the additional time for my trips is not worth that little amount.
