sobra naman yata na kasing lakas ng camry consumption.... owned a 2004 camry 2.0. yun talaga malakas 6km/li lang yun on moderate traffic. kung ganito consumption mo, may problema unit mo.

gen1 talaga pinaka matipid kasi sobra gaan ng body nun. (got 18km/li sa highway). gen2 naman with light traffic 12km/li. gen3 9km/li.

i am beginning to get the impression that the new vios is a "bit of a lemon".. is this true, or is the buyer now a more demanding lot?

    My unit is a bnew 1.5G a/t.

Ive been lurking for quite some time now but finally im posting my complaint about the car...my only complaint is the "tok tok sounds" sa may underside (dashboard or near wheel wells).

The first sound is the slight "tok" that can be heard independently at the front wheels, and sometimes when the road gets worse --- the "coughing" sound that seems something is vibrating inside the engine bay

But otherwise, the vios 1.5 has ample power (tried it in canyon woods and tagaytay highlands with full load)

Got my Vios today its an E 1.3 AT variant. So far so good, no kalampags, ayos hatak, nag C5-Slex-C5 ako round trip ayos naman. Pag sa inclined na paakyat sa parking ng malls, mapapanssin mo mahihirapan cya umakyat sa D gear. Inilipat ko sa 3-D umayos na ang lahat as for FC, i loaded it full tank with Shell Nitro+ (eto kase pinakamalapit sa casa) from C5 pasig casa to SM BF balikan, hindi bumaba sa "full" indicator ang fuel ko. kung bumaba man cguro very very light.

Got a 1.3e a/t since October 2013 at 1602 odometer. Daily city driving makati to katipunan and Mandaluyong and once a month to San Mateo rizal. Up to now, F/c shell fuel save and consumes for city driving moderate to heavy traffic at 9-10km/liter, highway 11-12km/liter. Satisfied nAman Ako, ok ang hatak, good aircon, no kalampag, no unnecessary tok tok sounds and Hindi namamatayan Ng engine kapag naka hang. Overtake Swabe nAman, slight delay LNG but tolerable maybe for safety purposes. Just my two cents

You cannot solve drive by wire delay with a piggy back solution.

What you're doing is simply forcing your throttle modulation more at a given pedal position. In other words, if you're pressing the gas pedal with a force of.. let's say 1 newton. The system simply tricks the ECU that you're pressing the gas pedal with 1.5N of force. Simply put, pressing the gas more will yield the same benefit in a non-Sprint Boosted vehicle.

In other words, you're paying more just for you to feel power that all you need to get is press on the gas a tiny bit wee harder. If I'll be frank, you just got scammed.

Don't wanna believe it? I'll bet you a dyno-run that your overall power figures doesn't really deviate from the norm. If I win, give me a free Dyno run and pay for yours, if not, you get to have a free dyno sheet

It's just how Toyota tunes their Vioses and Innovas. They aren't made for great handling or good response. They'll give you a response that optimizes fuel consumption so consumers won't complain that getting from Point A to Point B takes too much gas.

Tignan mo yun Mazda3.. great response and handling pero mga tao grabe umangal sa fuel consumption.

^^^ tingin ko sir magadjust ka din ng timing sa pagpress ng clutch at accelerator. Sanayan din yan. If may lag, why not press the accelerator earlier than the usual.

Kaya pala marami gumagamit ng aftermarket throttle controller such as sprint booster, pedal commander, eshadow.. etc.. ibig sabihin marami kami na scam.. hehehe

btw.. i have first hand experience at nakita ko ang difference compared sa stock though hindi sya naka increase ng hp but its purpose is to eliminate the delay in throttle response.. maybe other tsikoters na nascam ng aftermarket throttle controller can also share their experiences..

Why would you not consider getting an earlier model says 2010 onwards instead of 2005 if you are not in a tight budget?

i do not think you were scammed. the gadget delivered what you wanted it to do... a more responsive throttle.
but i agree... you probably did not really need it that badly; a livelier right foot would have delivered the same result.. parang power steering or brake booster lang yan.. mas madaling lumiko o mag-stop..

2010 model is fine. but the point of my comment was, is there something "wrong" with the new vios? why are many people complaining about little kinks in it? are today's customers more discriminating, or, is this just the product of easier communication, courtesy of the internet? that the older models had many problems also, only at that time, people were not gung ho into internet...
